I've never heard of ANY of those players on that team...save UK transfer...but the COACHING has them the position to do some great things

No 5-stars rosters...players recruited to a style of play and they have great success on the court.

Jimmy and Joes are needed but strategy X's and O's are needed too....IJS

Hoping Tigers can learn similar lessons tonight. Student section looks good too...lots of energy...

So is Jim Calhoun. Says it like it is. Didn't make shots because shot poor shots. Drive all the way to the basket instead if keeping space and throwing ally oop. Just poor coaching. We are becoming a mediocre team at best

Can anyone imagine if we didn't have Nichols

I don't know how well Rivals scouts players from Poland, Lithuania and Canada.

RE: Gonzaga teaching us many things tonight
Basically the same Gonzaga team that we beat last year, with a ton more cumulative experience and five star Wiltjer. That have beaten a lot of teams this year.

THIS year they are better than our teams, but considering our overall record with Gonzaga, the idea they delivered some bigger picture lesson is way off base.

Let them, after losing the Seniors they will lose, come to Memphis next year, with a Memphis team with a lot more cumulative experience, and we beat them again.

Feel free to view THIS season as a portent of coming years or some weirded backwards reflection on the last few years, but the reality is it is just a down season..still not over, where the guard play has simply been a real struggle, with tons of indication that will not last forever.

No life lessons here...yes I get the point being to needle Josh....just that THIS season they are better. Give me Memphis before and after.

Wiltjer was a KY starter and transfer as were a couple of others from high major schools. Not Southern University.

True. Josh needs to get a bird dog in Europe.

No, he didn't. Sat out his transfer year.

You're right, I was thinking of Sam Dower.

No, I was thinking more about Lithuania or Poland. Maybe even Spain and Russia.

How does Gonzaga Coach Mark Few recruit players from all over the world to show up in "middle of no where" Spokane, Washington?

I do think Few has a great eye for players to fit his system...which is really TEAM BALL...which I think most would agree is always Pastner's weakness...as he always looks for "stars", many that never had to play in a team flow format.

Why can't more players (i.e. NON LOCALS) and International Players set up shop in Memphis? It's an amazing "unique" American city that has a Top 15-20 supported program?

Wiltjer only started 10 of his 73 games he played at UK (didn't start one game during UK's Championship season) but he was the SEC 6th Man of the Year in 2012-2013 when he averaged 10.2 pts per game during UK's 21 win, 12 loss season.
