As some of you know, I was one of the Tiger fans at the game Saturday. I went to Oxford expecting a good time and, let me tell you, I had a GREAT time! I have never seen so many loyal fans. You guys are unbelievable. After we won, a Reb fan came up to me (I'd been hollering the whole game- nervous as hell), and told me that we were one of the best teams he'd ever seen and that they played a great game. He offered me his hand, and we shook. That was the kindest act of sportsmanship I've seen in awhile. Again, I thank all Ole Miss fans for helping to make the game even more exciting.
Now, from a game standpoint: the Rebs put up a bigger fight with us than any team this year (besides Florida, of course). I honestly thought that we were gonna lose that game at halftime. The thing about our team that sucks is that when we get on a slump, it's hard for us to come back. We start f*cking up and can't stop. Good thing was that we still had halftime to fix things up a little bit. You guys' defense played extremely well, and I'm almost positive that was the reason Mauck played like such an A.S.S. all night. I was very disappointed with our offense. There was a point in the game when I thought "If our offense was actually playing right now, instead of letting the defense do all the work, maybe we'd have a bigger win margin". I don't know if we could have won by much more. If everything had gone right for both teams, you guys would have most likely won. Your kicker surprisingly missed 2 field goals (6 pts.), and the pass where your player stepped out of bounds (Collins?), could have both gotten you guys 13 points. However, if things went right for everyone, then Mauck wouldn't have thrown any of his 3 interceptions- one which handed Ole Miss a touchdown. So the score could have easily been 20-17 in the Rebs' favor. But, as we all know, you can't dwell on the past. If I were a Reb fan, I'd be damn happy over my teams performance for the past season. Yall can finish 9-3, which is great, and have a bowl berth. One more thing, you did lose the game, but you also have a lot more to be proud of from your team's performance than we do, thats for sure! That was a real nail-biter, and you guys played and looked like a better team than Georgia. Good game, and best of luck with the rest of the season.
By the way.... I went to Ajax after the game. I wouldn't mind having one of those in B.R.!!! The food was great, but the wait wasn't.

Thanks for the kind words. Always good to hear from a positive opposing fan. I have to pull against you this week, for obvious reasons, but best of luck in your bowl! 04-cheers

Now that, boys and girls, is a fine example of true sportsmanship.

Congrats, LSU, y'all have fine team this year. Probably the best I have seen from LSU. Saban is damned good coach.

Yeah, the Tigers were great. That's why they won.

The most frustrating thing to me is that our damn offense actually DID beat the LSU defense by getting us a TD and putting us in field goal range.

I'm not going to call it a moral victory (I hate that concept). I'm also not going to say "we gave you the game by missing those field goals" (like a lot of Tiger fans say about Auburn dropping that pass against us).

All I'm saying is that football is a game of inches, and our offense struggled like hell and looked like crap, but they definitely found the inches. If only Nichols had been Nichols! I salute our boys for essentially beating the LSU defense.

Nonetheless, football IS a game of inches, and we needed more and failed to execute with the missed FGs.

Congratulations, Tiger fans.

Surprisingly, I was pissed off and upset about the loss for about an hour after the game, and then it went away

We got breaks. We got great field position several time. We failed to take advantage of those things. So, on to the State College game and hopefully a good bowl

I've heard that the ticket office still has some, if they haven't already sent them back to State College.

yes, I'll try both Monday. I should know better than to wait so late. But I didn't know if I was going to have to work or not. However, we live so close that we can still do T'giving lunch and be in S'hell in plenty of time.

I met some pretty decent fans after the game...they were asking for some directions. (No, not to Hell.) 03-wink They were 1st time visitors and were pretty complimentary.

If LSU is #3, then we did fairly well - but we COULD have won!

The defense did a spectacular job - why did Nichols wait until now to go cold?

GO Hawgs!!!! Hope Matt Jones has the day of his life. (I ain't too proud to accept a little help!)
