RE: UCLA in Memphis
The year Brady Davis assumes the starting quarterback job at MEMPHIS.

I have heard rumors that UCLA will opt to pay MEMPHIS the cancellation buyout, but I'll have to see it to believe it. They've always struck me as a stand up group. We'll see, even though the recent North Carolina-Wake Forest OOC game deal initiates a trend that further divides the P5 cartel from the G5 serfs.

Tennessee has already backed off the 2017 date, so that rigorous OOC schedule is not quite as daunting.

We may see them in a bowl game before Lynch is gone.

Let's hope that both TN and UCLA opt out. We will have a rookie QB at that point and could get ugly.

RE: UCLA in Memphis
I have obviously not seen the contract but a lot of times there is a buyout figure and if they wanted to exercise the buyout, we would still have to accept it. We could always say no to the money and make them come.

What I want to know, is when Arkansas will pay us for the 5 games they owe. Since we lead the series 3-2, I don't mind quitting while we're ahead, but I want financial satisfaction.

RE: UCLA in Memphis
You have to wonder why it is we have always under this administration given the first game to the opposing team and sit back and hope they do not buy out of their game in Memphis. We have even given the first game to a school which did not have a football team 6 years ago. Our scheduling is clearly working from a position of weakness.

I thought they just owed us one. Distant memory now. That was a fun series though.

I think Arkansas only owes us for one game. Lets see if UCLA honors the game at Nevada, that might tell us something. Plus, it doesn't hurt for them to play a game in the south where they might want a player or two.

RE: UCLA in Memphis
If UCLA exercises the buyout clause you don't get to choose if you want to accept it. It's called a buyout clause for that reason. Plus we'd be stupid not to. We could just schedule a Sun Belt or MAC opponent, get UCLA's money and the money from a home game. By then the ticket prices will probably be leveled to point you'll pay the same regardless of the opponent.

BTW...get ready to shell out more for tickets folks.

We are long overdue for a ticket price increase. Tigers football tickets are ridiculously inexpensive.
