Happened to my daughter and her family last week. 2:30 in the morning, someone broke in and was upstairs sneaking around when they heard him. Son-in-law confronted him coming down stairs, intruder broke for front door, son-in-law got gun and chased him. Dude got away. Scared the crap out of all of them.

Glad the cops got there quick and were able to get the guy. That A-hole is lucky to be alive.

FWIW, A Remington 870 tactical isn't a bad idea if it happens again.

I have a glock within arms reach and a mossberg 930 spx loaded with double aught buck and a slug just in case. I hope to never use them on someone. I'm glad you're okay and stay safe.

FWIW, A Remington 870 tactical isn't a bad idea if it happens again.

Or for something a tad easier to maneuver in tight spaces, a pistol firing ammunition that starts with at least a '4'.

Same here in OH. I have my Glock 19 with a Crimson Trace laser within arms reach. I hope I never have to use it, but there are a lot of crazy people out there.

IMO there is no reason it should be unlawful to shoot someone who breaks into your house in any state. I don't even care about the reasonable peril part either. If someone forcibly enters your house, you should be able to dispatch them with no questions asked.
