sulaimon dismissed ...
Rasheed Sulaimon dismissed from Duke.

"Rasheed has been unable to consistently live up to the standards required to be a member of our program,” said Krzyzewski. β€œIt is a privilege to represent Duke University and with that privilege comes the responsibility to conduct oneself in a certain manner. After Rasheed repeatedly struggled to meet the necessary obligations, it became apparent that it was time to dismiss him from the program.”

If you get pushed out, then you're immediately eligible the next season?

Has played his last college game. Will most likely go pro overseas instead of sitting out a year and transferring.

If he gets his degree this summer, he can transfer without sitting out. He will be very highly coveted. Can't think of many better options than Memphis, IMO.

Yes

Not always. There's a process that would have to take place. His best hope is to graduate this summer.

I know this...Josh has his fingers on the pulse of these situations. That is one thing he's proven.

But understand...A LOT of people will want Sulaimon if he will be eligible immediately.

Quote:"Rasheed has been unable to consistently live up to the standards required to be a member of our program," coach Mike Krzyzewski said in a release. "It is a privilege to represent Duke University and with that privilege comes the responsibility to conduct oneself in a certain manner. After Rasheed repeatedly struggled to meet the necessary obligations, it became apparent that it was time to dismiss him from the program."

Last season the coaching staff talked to Sulaimon about his body language when things didn't go his way. He had specifically been called out for pouting and not celebrating his teammates while he was on the bench.

But you can't deny he would be a major coup for Memphis if he decides to finish his college career... He can play the point and he is a superb defender.

Quote:Krzyzewski would often use Jones and Sulaimon in the same lineup as his top defenders. Sulaimon was valuable in a sense that he could also play point guard and run the offense if needed. Jones is not skilled in the same manner.

According to Goodman: "Sulaimon will try to graduate this summer so he can play his final season next school year as a graduate student for another program."

Duke isn't currently investigating RS...FWIW

I just don't see how it happens, but you never know.

He'd be a big guard in the backcourt, and if Burrell keeps progressing, he can swing to the SG at times as well, giving the ability to go big with multiple looks.

We will see what Pastner does in the late period.

I'd welcome this. Do we have room for him and the CSU guy? Too lazy to look it up.

We have room - we'd be lucky to land just one of them, both would be a minor miracle.
