JMU
So this is may be only 1 JMU poster's opinion but here is what has been put on their latest game thread (against Delaware)

Quote:Go Dukes! Saturday, all we have to do is guard the 3 point shooting. A lot of teams have been shutting Thornton down.

Yep...he's averaging around 20 points a game. Lots of teams are shutting him down.

RE: JMU
I think the key on Saturday is effectively taking advantage of the weakness of a 3-2 zone. The key is to get the ball into the high post and have that player turn and face the basket either to score or dump it down to the low post.

I saw where Hofstra had a lot of trouble doing this. I know in our game at the Hall neither Sheldon (who I assume will be out) nor Tarpey nor Prewitt were effective there.

I don't understand why Prewitt wouldn't eat this up; he has a game that seems perfectly suited to this role.

If we get inside the 3-2 it should allow us a lot of easy inside points and THEN the 3s will be uncontested.

If we don't get inside, the 3s will be contested and I'm afraid it will be a long day.

What a delusional message board. I try and take some interest sometimes but it's really difficult. The overall impression you get - all the time and nearly every subject thread - is they are being cheated somehow out of athletic greatness - and the fault banters between their admin, the CAA conference, etc.

We had 48 points in the paint against Hofstra. Yep, just guard the 3 point shooting, you'll be fine.

JMU fans are delusional. Unfortunately I can't say the same about their coaching staff. No doubt they will be ready to play and not distracted by AN. This game should be winnable or losable. With our more recent play and confidence, I'm betting on winnable.

With this team, every game is winnable, and we should be favored in almost every game. The team is really starting to jell and there's a great next man up feel to everything.

They seem to hate the Spiders and ODU more than us, but have a super negative attitude toward the CAA. The stunning part is that they are much farther away from any dominance in football and basketball in our league than 7-8 years ago. No reason to go into it here, but there is no step up for them that really makes sense. I expect their administration knows it. Perhaps the few loud messages on their board are not an accurate reflection of the alumni at large. I think it made sense for VCU to leave and it did not for ODU or George Mason.

Any publicly available updates on Sean's ankle that can be shared on the board? My sense is he is day to day or game to game.

According to Dave Fairbank of the DP, he is day to day as of yesterday.

Well we know Andre Nation is out. JMU seems significantly better without him.

Well, it's right there with MaineJeff's prediction years ago on our basketball game - as I remember "either team could win though it will be within 10 points". As I think you at the time reminded him, that covered about 90% of all possible outcomes.

Of course, W&M went on to win by 30 or more.
