The Blizzard of 2015 is playing havoc with the Northeast, but the Cincinnati-UConn men's basketball game is expected to be played as scheduled Thursday night at Fifth Third Arena.

Connecticut was among states hit by the snowstorm Tuesday, but UConn basketball spokesman Phil Chardis said the team expects to reach Cincinnati on its scheduled travel day Wednesday.

"We still are under a travel ban but things are expected to improve today," Chardis said via email Tuesday morning. "We weren't planning to leave until Wednesday afternoon anyway, and as of now, we haven't changed those plans."

Chuck Sullivan, American Athletic Conference assistant commissioner for communications, said the league also expects that the game will be played.

"The storm is hitting pretty hard right now, but it apparently is on a downward trend, so I suspect (UConn) should be able to get out tomorrow," Sullivan said. "Not aware of any potential issues as of now."
