But the fact remains, there isn't a single suggestion here that the AD's haven't already considered and rejected - either by consensus, or because there is clearly enough opposition to keep it from happening.

So, unless the NCAA allows the ACC to schedule with no divisions, this decision satisfies two schools whose fans have a common goal - preserving a rivalry that has lasted for more than a century - and it hurts nobody. Why anybody has a problem with that is beyond me.

But once you have decided to schedule without divisions in mind, you can accomplish roughly the same schedules with rotating divisions uf you want. The only thing rotating divisions can not guaruntee is that the 2 best teams make the CCG. But at least divisions promise the CCG has the best teams from groups that all played each other.

Which is why there are buy-out provisions. Troy will get its money from NCSU if the game is dropped.

And I don't agree with the idea of a buyout provision either. Troy would never be able to replace NC State with the quality of home game to win fans. It could cost them a ton.

I'd also argue that NC State/Duke isnt an OOC game, and check the wording of the buyout for reasons the game can be bought out.

G5 teams should not let P5 teams out of contracts this easy.

That is why you need to have to make the buyout provision costly. It Troy didn't, then who's fault is that? NCSU got burned because LSU bought us out and the previous AD only had $200K buyout. In return we got Troy H/H. I would be all for buying out @Troy to replace it with a Duke H/H OOC. In addition, I highly doubt the is a reason for buyout needed, just what is have to be paid. I doubt any P5 would sign a Home and Home of conditions were placed on Buyouts.
