Basically about a fan who has been attending games since Finch played against Neumann as freshmen. A guy who finally had enough and gave up his seats after last year.
So in his view, last years team was the worst team in about 40 years? I've seen alot worse. Maybe the real issue is the amount of money required to have the right to purchase the seats is driving people away.
I've seen worse too and support was bad under Pimp Price, but that can't happen. This is the lifeblood of Memphis.
Donations had been down for years. It was a different era back then. You have to remember when we moved from the coliseum a lot of people who had been season ticket holders for years got moved because of the whole "tiger club" thing. There was already some animosity over that. Some of those folks are the ones that are now in the upper deck mid court. You could buy an upper level ticket outside for $5 and go sit next to the fat boy in the student section. Nobody even checked you ticket back then

Not many AD's that would make a coaching change in this situation.
One season a seen in a vacuum and you're probably correct. Especially considering the previous four were satisfactory.
From the outside, it looks one way.
But from inside, we know all the tawdry parts - the suspensions, player transfers, repeated blowouts, etc.
I think an AD has to consider everything in this situation and then pose a question - will it get that much better in year 7?

Wolo needs to be glad that no one is banging on him to be gone.

Gotcha. I was in school then and we could sit anywhere. That changed when Cal got there. My last year was his first.
Fat boy was hardcore.

I can't imagine listening to him like we used to listen Big Jack. Then it was all we had.

...especially an AD who actually knows what he's doing, like Bowen.
Pastner's hard-headedness and obvious tendencies to be a control freak don't help him when it comes to these questions.

It will get better, but who knows how much better. As MTC stated, maybe you force Pastner to hire a strong bench coach.
I would think that that would be a way for the program to save face. On one hand, the school wouldn't be firing him and there is definitely the perception that he isn't a strong X&O's guy.

Seriously? The truth hurts wolo.
Incredible.
It's easy to see why Wolo would say this. It makes Wolo's job easier if he stays on Josh's good side. Also, Wolo and Calkins are competing for ratings on the radio for an hour every day.
