Who else besides Eastern Washington (red), CC and Boise?

Here is a list Wikipedia has on schools with non-green fields. BSU uniqueness is falling away and becoming more grouped with FCS and lower division schools rather than being group with FBS schools.

Obviously Boise is the first team that comes to mind for non green fields.
Looking at the list BSU stands out like a sore thumb.
I knew after I mentioned big time someone would mention Boise.
They went to the blue field then had a great run .
I have read where some Boise fans would like to lose the blue field .
They don't need the gimmick anymore problem is if they have a down streak after changing back. They also have had to defend the choice of blue for a long time .
From 1986-2008 they were the only non green field.
They were FCS when they went blue.

I physically can not watch a Boise home game or an Eastern Washington game on tv. It just hurts my eyes and brain to much and for some reason I can not focus on the football game at hand and end up just looking all over the place. Boise needs to redo there entire field and bring the stands closer to the field. It is just an acquired looking stadium.

Watching Central Arkansas on TV is much much worse than watching Boise on TV the stripes seem to move. EWU though, that's awful.

I used to joke that since our colors are red and black we were going with black end zone and then the goalline to 20 would be red so those people new to football would understand the red zone.

I would think Boise would be better off going back to green.
They can hang their hat on three Fiesta bowl wins .

According to the BSU board only Boise can have a blue field they trademarked it.
So is teal green or blue its blue/green ?
Defend the blue sounds better than defend the teal .
Coastal does have some good branding even with a strange teal rooster as a mascot. They were USC-Coastal so the Chanticleer kinda honors the past.

Coastal has a really nice new baseball and softball stadiums opening this spring.
The athletic complex is now the T.D. sports complex.
The football coach is the former CEO and chairman of T.D. Ameritrade .
MJG, as a Myrtle Beach area resident, is Coastal softly testing the waters for FBS inclusion with their teal turf deal? Have there been any studies or recommendations and analysis of the program and facilities? If so, I've missed and yet to read any public statements for FBS desire. Is this just riding the current wave of FB success or is there a move afoot for FBS?

RE: Coastal Carolina to go to a teal turf
The school is rapidly growing with apartment complexes popping up walking distance to campus. The school is having a building boom of its own with several new buildings and dorms.

The problem they have is it has only been separate from USC for a relatively short period. The football program is only ten years old so fan support isn't great.

They are very aggressive and the stadium was built with expansion in mind.
I think FBS might be a goal but the timetable would probably be ten years from now.
I think Coastal is trying to take advantage of being Coastal Carolina and Myrtle Beaches university. They get a lot of out of state kids which equals money.
There is a ton of stuff for young people to do especially nightlife.

The County would help fund a stadium expansion if a bowl game was possible.
They would look at it as a good investment filling the over two thousand hotels in a slow time. The area would be a great bowl location over a hundred golf courses and plenty of attractions.

The flag issue would be a problem but Coastal has hosted regionals in baseball.
That is at the minor league park they can host them now on campus with the new baseball stadium.

But they were the original.

Dunno what the big deal is. It's not like CCU is going to be the first with teal turf.

Although I question the wisdom of copying anything done in Philly sports-wise.

I might be in the minority, but I like the strange colored fields. It is a way to build tradition.

It's getting redundant though.

The idea is great for FCS schools. It gives them something to set them apart and gets people talking, that's key for lower division schools. Colored field usually look awful on TV, but for FCS that's no big deal because most of them are only regionally and aren't overly dependent on TV revenue the way FBS teams tend to be.

I mean really....it's not like it's going to be something obnoxious like Boise, EWU, or UCA.

Unless you knew better you probably will not be able to tell that the beach chickens went with teal.

Is it close enough to green so that they could avoid paying royalties to Boise?

God help us all if Hawai'i decides to go with a rainbow colored field.

LOL, the main color of Hawai'i is green, so we're safe. I don't even think they're called Rainbow Warriors (just Warriors), so we're safe.
