in Jonesboro is that Brady has to make the tournament (Sun Belt) to keep his job for another year. No idea what the criteria for Steve is, but Thursday's game will be a war. It always is, but with jobs possibly on the line, it will be like Armageddon.

Probably if he wins another game, he'll cut a new five year deal with Howdy Doody. That ain't all that bad when you consider that his old sugar daddy is gone. But I suspect he's got a new one. And as far as jobs being on the line making for Armageddon, the coaches ain't playing.

That's far from guaranteed, but the sense is that if the team can rebound enough to finish middle of the pack, than he'll get next year. The understanding is that if we give him next year, it will be NCAA or NIT or Bust..

If the team continues to lose to teams like Lafayette by 40, he might not even survive tourney or not.

That's exactly what my friend told me and he seems to be pretty well connected. He also informed me that the information you sent me in the private message, was told to him by no other than the recently replaced governor of Arkansas. Not a bad "source" of information.

There's no word on the street in Little Rock. First, of all, the "tourists" that make up the majority of our crowds could care less who the head coach is. And the number of people in LR who do care is a drop in the bucket compared to Jonesboro were there is some pride in your local university. Second, we have a brand new AD and no one has a clue what he will do- which is the way it should be. A strong finish would likely save Steve as well, but I'm not sure this season can be turned around at this point.

Mike Beebe posted it on our message board. That's how both of us got our information. I didn't want it public over here because it might upset Scotto, and he would leave me off his daily quotables list as punishment.

I feel if UALR pulls a LALA on us, then it's pretty obvious Brady has no fight or care left in him

And my friend let me believe he was "buddies" with the governor. I didn't ask any details- he just told me he got his info from Mike Beebe.

Don't have to worry about that. We simply don't have enough firepower to overwhelm anybody. Over his career here, Coach Shields has generally been good at winning the close games, which we generally have a lot of. This year we seem to have lost just about every one.

that's an ASU thing. I know someone who ran into Beebe in the restroom at a football game, and tried to pass it off that they were buddies afterwards.
