RE: Hofstra
From the telecast, the military folks seemed quite into it. Were they from bases around the area? Fun to get some more locals involved with the team.

RE: Hofstra
Crowd was again really into and supportive of the team. Students were loud, standing, and numerous. Soldiers were about 300 in number and fully supportive of our guys. They were not counted in the attendance since no tickets or student IDs and they entered as group into Kaplan...so crowd was well over 3000.

You have a wonderful way with words - this line though really struck me. I agree. When we are on, this team really is such a pleasure to watch.

If you do accidentally find a way to make the dance, the least you could do is thank the Seahawks for not making the way easy on you, and thus preparing you to upset your opponent.
Lord knows, Hofstra and NU aren't going to help you prepare. That's for sure.
How cute. Now go away.

When you shoot as well as W&M did last night you can paper over a lot of flaws. That type of shooting probably isn't repeatable. W&M isn't a great rebounding team and there probably isn't much they can do about that this year but they'll need to cut down on the turnovers for the return game w/Hofstra.
We had 24 points from 3s, 48 points in the paint, and 22 from the line. That leaves 6 points from mid-range jumpers. I think that bodes well for us. As for the offensive rebounds given up, it wasn't as bad as it looked. Officials on par with those we've had most of the CAA season would have made more over the back calls, and Hofstra had a lug who we needed Sheldon to body. It's not any worse than it has been in other games.
I'm not as concerned by the turnovers; Hofstra pressured passes that nobody else has been pressuring, and we've taken them for granted. If anything, Hofstra's film will show our guys that they need to make good strong passes even when we're out around midcourt. We also got 17 turnovers from Hofstra. If we're losing the TO battle by 5-10, then it's a problem. When we have essentially the same as the other team, it's a wash.

It's very difficult to get offensive rebounds when 65% of your shots ho in the basket!!
