They are leaving town, nothing you do is changing that. In its place you have a university wanting to have athletic facilites, baseball, football and all the development that comes with that, positives and negatives. Seems like it is a pretty even swap from what you have to what you're getting....

Uneducated people make the dumbest arguments I guess. Not sure if I'm the one uneducated or the people in the neighborhood.....01-wingedeagle

A stadium that is also empty 80% of the year.

The Georgia State plan also includes student housing and single family housing... along with a grocery store. So no, the land won't be empty 80% of the year.

Right. Turner Field is empty 80% of the year.

Technically. 5 hours a day for 81 days... works out to being empty 95% of the time.

Small activist minority.

Probably but those ITP weirdos can be very vocal. It is like some of them live for stuff like this. Always fighting the "man"...and such. 03-hissyfit

Braves have to give their notice before it can be for sale. They have a 5 year option they could exercise. So they won't do that until after the GA Supreme Court validates the bonds, which should happen this summer, and they are comfortable that the stadium will be ready. Which they should be, they have crews working 6 days a week. But technically they do not have to give notice until 12/31/15.

Would have been awesome if the City of Savannah could have worked out the stadium issues with the Sav SandGnats. Would have been good to build a multi- use venue for concerts, baseball, and football. 30,000 seats would have done it. Could have had a bowl game and Southern could have played there once a year.

Macon is another place. They have that huge empty lot across from their convention complex.
