CUSA could go to 16, but ...
may take only one (USA of Texas State) from the Sun Belt, if any. It is beginning to look like at least two MAC schools, maybe three, could join CUSA.

I'm hearing CUSA is moving to 24 teams and, in an attempt to get into the ATL market, are inviting the Falcons for a football only membership.

I've heard they are going to merge with the SWAC.

I am not going to reveal personal sources, but if you would read anything other than this board, you would know there are stories and other info out there supporting this possibility.
This irony is that one would assume that Belt may come through round unscathed. But based on your responses that apparently is not the case.

You've suggested a merger with the SWAC, Sam Houston, Lamar, Southern Utah, Weber State before. Nobody cares what your sources say or takes you seriously after that.

Oh trust me...everyone here watches sources, but you are a known troll. You recently tried to convince us to merge with the SWAC.
Excuse us if we decide to not take you or your "sources" seriously.

And they were suggestions. What I am posting now is not a suggestion, but a real possibility.
What is hard to take seriously is the suggestion that some of you have/had that the Belt caught up up CUSA and that some schools (namely A-State) would turn down a CUSA invite. Reality says otherwise.
I understand the situation the Belt is in: Stuck at the bottom of FBS with poor leadership and one conference raid away from forever being relegated to irrelevance. I like to think out of the box and potential solutions instead of believing the nonsense you believe in.
I am sorry that my potential good news is offensive.

As for real possibilities....it is a real possibility that CUSA takes ULL...or USA....or TXST....or A-State...or JMU....or GaSt....or GaSo...or NIU...or TXST....or Toledo....or UMASS.....or NMSU...or some combination of three of those...or nobody. I can make a case for any of them.

Unless CUSA loses a TX school or two, I don't believe that it'll be us . .

Since they've postponed their decision on UAB until June, that's most certain to be the case. What I'm curious about, is what they do, and how quickly they do it, once they pull the trigger on UAB. . .

RE: CUSA could go to 16, but ...
CUSA is going to give UAB all the way until June to get its football situation sorted out.
That says to me that if UAB doesn't stay, the odds of them backfilling with a replacement school even for 2016-17 are slim. That doesn't give CUSA a lot of time to vet candidates and decide on a way forward.
So then most likely if CUSA drops UAB they end up sticking with 13 for a while, IMO.

guys, guys, guys.
I heard from a buddy of mine, whom I won't name, that he/she heard from someone who is a reliable source, but they wouldn't tell me who, heard from someone else that CUSA will be making some changes, or they might not.
