Saturday was the first time I've gotten to see him play close up. If there's a gene for being a point guard he has it.

Glad he's playing in the Green N Gold! No wonder Creighton originally wanted him...

How was his performance last week not "player of the Week"?

He was 13-22 and 6 of 9 to get to 36. He missed 12 shots. And it was against Marshall.

He still scored 36. I'm not going to argue against our player, but it's not unreasonable for him to get the honor going 36 and 8 then 18 and 8.

I know somebody that took 17 shots to get to 0.

RE: CUSA Freshman of the week:Nick Norton
There is a freshman of the week and a player of the week, just like there is a freshman of the year, a player of the year, AND a newcomer of the year - different measuring sticks and expectations. In order for a freshman to win the award he would have to be head and shoulders ahead of an upperclassman. That was not the case here. The player of the week is primarily reserved for upperclassmen. It would be interesting to determine, historically, how often a frosh has won the award. I would guess its pretty rare. Of course, I could be wrong...
