They are here.

This neighborhood is in the middle of the hood on the north side of downtown Charlotte. Houses in this neighborhood have been selling like crazy the last 2 years.

These aren't 300,000+ but many are in the mid-250,000's and they're bordered by ghetto too. http://www.ryanhomes.com/find-your-home/...ryant-park

Plenty of remodels and tear downs and rebuilds in areas that border ghetto areas here too.

In Charlotte, our poverty is slowly being exported to the fringes of the city where tons of cheap suburban style apartments were built when the inner city was not desirable. As those have aged, rents have dropped, and they're becoming magnets for poverty and now houses that are $300,000+ now have poverty encroaching on their territory because developers built cheap crap. This is going to be a major issue in southern cities over the next 20 years as the suburban apartment complexes that were built when land was cheap, age out and are no longer desirable to the affluent. Just to clarify, when I say suburban, I'm referring specifically to the style of apartment (also referred to as garden style) and not necessarily areas outside the city limits.

In 20 years, Charlotte is basically going to be a poverty sandwich. Wealthy in the inner city, poor on the fringes, wealthy in the suburbs, with some areas obviously being exceptions.

been a bit since I lived there, isn't that right by NoDa?
Not really. It's a few miles from NoDa. There is a rail yard and two major thoroughfares (Graham St. and Statesville Ave) separating this area from NoDa.

Brightwalk is bound by I77 and Statesville Ave.

The other one I linked is on the west side of 77.
