Make the schools responsible for behavior beyond reasonable taunting of the visitors, but let the students be there. I mean by responsible a significant fine if a referee says to end something and the students fail to do so, and the university security just sits there.

They moved our student section from behind the visitor bench as well. The students loved to scream all game long at the coach and the bench to distract them. But they were moved to under a goalpost by the pep band. It probably didn't help that UALR's coach once came into the stands to fight a student either... I don't know the full story about that, but perhaps someone else here does.

Same thing here. Our student section used to be right next to the visiting bench. Then we played Arkansas in the WNIT in front of 11,000 people and our students stomped on the state flag and did many other anti Razorback things and chanted rather mean things to their players. Pigs complained to the Sun Belt Office. The next season, the benches had been swapped where the visitors were on the opposite end of the student section. Atmosphere hasnt been the same since.

It's a big sticking point with some of our alums.

Am I misremembering... didn't the Sun Belt actually mandate that the students not be behind the visitor bench?
