NJ High School Thug Assaults 62 Yr Old Teacher
Over a cel phone.

This kid needs a good old fashioned ass whooping. Knowing NJ though I'm sure this was the teacher's fault somehow. When are we going to let teachers defend themselves?

Punishing these kids is a serious problem. What do you do?

Do you expel a kid like that? They almost certainly can't afford to go to a private school. Where do they go?

Throwing a kid out and denying them an education is a sure-fire way to turn that kid into a life long criminal, no?

I get it sucks and the kid ought to be punished. My point is that most public schools don't even have a mechanism to do it. First, you think that kid cares? Second, you know that expelling them is bad for just about everybody.

This is assault. The first thing you do is find out if the guy has mental issues. If that isn't the case, then you need to lock up this individual. He is a threat to innocent bystanders. This wasn't a street fight. This wasn't provoked.

I don't think you can fix some people in life.

This happened at my elementary school in 1989 when I was in 5th grade. The teacher tried to discipline the kid for not listening to her. She told him he couldn't participate in whatever it was that we were doing in P.E. that day. I believe we were pushing unshelled peanuts across the floor, with our nose, in a race. Anyways, he got arrested and spent almost a year and a half in juvenile detention. He was an honor student until he graduated after that.

P-Town at its finest!!!!

This isn't the first time its happened in Paterson.

The school will have this student back in school at some point this year. His parents need to be held accountable

First, his single parent needs to care. That'll never happen.

After watching it again, it seems like the kid is more petulant than aggressive. I almost wish that you could administer corporal punishment, because it might be what the kid needs. He acts like he KNOWS that the teacher can't kick his ass.

That's the "hood mentality" that we can't seem to pull these kids out of.

What ever happened to that program that was used back in the 80's for kids like this? think it was called Scared Straight like a Jail Boot camp run by former Convicts. Seems at the time it put fear into wayward Youth. It didn't rehab all but if just some it could make a difference in Their life before things really get out of hand for them.

They probably offended a kid somewhere in the early to mid 2000's.

This is a simple one. First off he should be charged with assault and jailed as an adult.

Kicked out of school and sent to work hard labor for the rest of the school year and pay damages to the school teacher.

This useless punk is fortunate because, had I been his teacher, He would be in a coma!!

Had most of us been little short black man's teacher, I seriously doubt he would have made those moves. Not unless he showed up with 3 or 4 other kids beside him.

Bottom line: Kid would not have done it unless he thought he could get away with it. A near death beating to this kid would prevent other kids from thinking they can get away with it.

I used to work and sometimes hang out in Paterson, but that was a long time ago. I wonder if there's anything left to salvage or if it just turned into a giant schithole.

It's going to get him fricked up once he runs into someone that doesn't have a tolerance for petulant petty violence.

You are dealing with kids here. You don't hand down punishment that will ruin the rest of their lives.

True, but whatever his punishment, it should be designed to reel his little ass in before he gets further out of hand.

The punshment should ruin their lives, but it should be something they'll remember all of their lives.

This is pretty self-explanatory and applies here. Justice tempered by Mercy.
