Probably will still be a decent crowd Saturday night, but this game could have really marked a significant day for Huskie bball had this year gone how we were hoping.

This would be a break from past practice. They have never given shirts to all fans, just students (except for when the cheerleaders throw them in the stands).

That is funny. Thank God for Joe Novak because football would be another sport that lost another decade without him. Serously though it is great NIU is good in football because the other sports are an embarassment overall with the exception here or there

Nothing to get mad about, just the facts. Hopefully something can be done about it . I know your AD is working hard to undo a lot of past neglect so that is good. The other issue is the seriuos need of revenue for all MAC schools. It will take NIU every single home game to sell the same number of tickets that some MAC schools sell in two games. Multiply that times ten years and its a huge revenue gap that has to be addressed and soon.

Question, when football was bad were the other sports any good? I know at one point the MAC conference decided to invest all into football. Is it just rare or not likely that you can be good in football and bball at the same time?

I didnt say that, but I know that we do a pretty good job overall representing the conference across the board. In fact I am not comparing at all NIU to Toledo. It simply appears that football is an aberation at NIU and the rest of the sports platform is average to weak overall with the exception from time to time. Nothing to get mad about it just the facts. Our Volleyball team is consistently one of the best in the MAC if not the nation. Our Soccer Teams have both recently been to the NCAA's. Our mens golf team is on the rise. It's a down year for wrestling but we have historically been a great wrestling school having sent at least one wrestler to the NCAA almost every year. I think you're only thinking about basketball to be honest.

No, I don't know of any MACC that we have won other than football. I know volleyball has been very good. I was just wondering why people keep saying NIU is only good at football?

Or, they could have had the ball bouncing off the rim, but I don't think we are that good yet. Maybe next year.

Everyone will receive a t-shirt, limited amounts of them though.

I assume they will only be by the main lobby entrances. I enter the Convo by the donor area (Sixth Man Grille) and they never hand anything out there.
