I agre Slinkin. The good news is Kent is in the double bonus. The bad news is Fowler is starting to get his. So is this Keal fella.

Milk this clock down and hit some free throws! Up 9 with 3 minutes left. Central Michigan has a good defense...but their offense stinks!

That's what I mean when I say we stunk up the place. And I have to tell you I really got tired of listening to the Kent State announcers talking about your suffocating defense. When Simons has one open look after another and can't hit a shot they can talk all they want about how Kent State really shut him down but I'm sorry, I didn't see it that way. And when a team goes almost eight minutes without being able to score anything it's often not due to the defense but lousy offensive play.

Okay, enough of my sour grapes. Again, nice win Kent State. You are all alone in first place. You have earned it - enjoy it.

To me, the last three games shows me that Kent is closer to the top of the league than the middle. There's a long way to go, but I am very impressed - this is probably the best team in the last 4 years.

Congrats indeed. Hall is the kind of player I'm hoping Scott will develop into eventually. You guys owned us on the boards tonight.

Make or break time with 4 of the next 5 on the road @ Buffalo, WMU, Akron and Toledo. Only home game is Miami.

Only game that matters is Friday night in Buffalo. Have to take them 1 at a time. 07-coffee3

I am guessing you don't want that. I don't either. 04-cheers

Most exciting game of the year. I thought for a few minutes they were going to give it away but they settled down and put it away. I suspect they will be working on beating an all out press this week. Their turnovers caused by that almost cost them. I am a little worried about Jackson. When he went down late in the game his hip and/or back was hurting him. He played okay but was definitely hurting. Hope he's ready for Friday.

Heaven forbid the KSU-employed announcers spin something slightly to make their team more attractive. You say your guy had an off night? Funny how we keep hearing that every game from each team's stud.

It's not even spin. The defense was insane. When you hold a team that makes 11 bombs a night to 4 makes and 30 points below their average, your defense did the job.

CMU ain't bad, but good lord their non-conf schedule was hideous (329/351). And their only loss was to Geno.

Be care now. I suspect we will see you again and it won't be in Kent, Ohio.

RE: Central Michigan @ Kent State
Kent State did have a ton of trouble when Central defended the inbounds pass hard. We lost a few possessions when Central Michigan defended the inbound pass hard.

I do like the Central Michigan offense - why is it over the last few year, when Kent State guys drive the lane there's always 3 defenders to battle through? With CMU, they had their offense working to set up situations where they could drive to the basket and only have 1 guy to beat.

Good game - I think this game raises my expectations for Kent State. I'd expect to be a top 4 seed in the MAC Tournament, if not a top 2 seed.

I already said above I don't want to play you again. That said, it doesn't change the fact that your record is somewhat smoke and mirrors. Your team played a HS schedule in the non-conference portion of the season.

I'm curious did you actually get to see the game? I unfortunately did not (first home game I've missed in years). So I'm curious if your take on our defense was just based on how the announcers were describing it or did you have video? It's always interesting to get the opposing fans take on how our team looks.
