Or maybe we brought in a guy who would come here given the circumstances- hard place to win plus rumbling of NCAA trouble to come given Tyndall's skirting of recruiting rules. Sometimes you have to take what you can get.

We had Green, who won a regular season C-USA 1.0 title which is still belittled by many fans, and he was hung out to dry by his own AD.

We had Eustachy, who methodically built a winner and NCAA tournament team, but it wasn't enough to endear him. In fact, he was reviled by many even after beginning to win here.

Tyndall came, put on the dog-and-pony show, paid little head to NCAA rules, openly demanded (and got) a new contract after one year, didn't get to the NCAAs, then walked away as fast as he could, but is still beloved and defended by many.

Maybe the problem isn't with the coaches.

In reply to your first paragraph... that is a definite possibility. I completely agree with everything else.

To have success at Southern Miss, we need a coach who can win under very difficult circumstances. The problem is that there aren't many of those coaches out there.

Doc seems like a nice guy. I hope he has success. I will be at more basketball games cheering him on more than most Golden Eagle fans that dont live in H'burg area. That said, I wish we had chosen someone else. And Rock, for me, this has nothing to do with who hired him.

Miles just may prove himself an elite-level coach & on deck for a gig at a perennial national championship contender. He's the only person to ever win an NCAA game at Lincoln. That Miles has been an upgrade so far doesn't automatically make Sadler a poor head coach.

Here again, you refer to Sadler as "mediocre." That is quite simply an incorrect label for someone with his track record. Only between 1/4 and 1/3 of college basketball teams go to the NCAAs or NITs in a given year. Sadler-led teams made it 5 out of 8 seasons prior to his arrival at USM. That's a well-above-average performance no matter how you slice it. There's nothing wrong with wishing we'd hired somebody else, but out of whomever applied, not many could've had a better body of work, because his is pretty impressive by any objective measure. For heaven's sake, he's been to the NCAAs 1/3 as many times as our entire program, and the NIT twice as many times as Lord Tyndall took us.

Hopefully after the NCAA gets thru with us we won't curse the first day we ever heard the name Donnie Tyndall.

Nothing official yet, but according to a source Jeremiah Eason and Rasham Suarez are no longer with the Southern Miss basketball program.

I think a former dt assistant monkeyed with some transcripts

Sources tell us basketball players Suarez and Eason to be ruled inelligible at Southern Miss!"

I guess now Millinghaus will get to play after all.

What an absolute clusterfudge.

It's time to move forward and hit the juco recruiting trail once again....it's worked in the past.....don't see us signing anything that would resemble a KY freshman class...

I think this team, coaches, and school have had enough k-y applied....

thanks for the fk'n DT.....

If I was Sadler, I'd probably jet out of this hellhole. What a complete Charlie-Foxtrot.
