Thought it would be interesting to see people's favorite players over the years. They don't have to be the best or from any certain era.. So who is your first team?
I will start it off with mine

F-Danny Fortson
F-Eric Hicks
G-Nick Van Exel
G-Melvin Levitt

6Th Man-Bobby Brannon

C - Kenyon
F - Oscar
F - Fortson
G - Logan
G - Van Exel

6th - Wingfield

So hard to narrow down, so I'll go with an all guard version of players i saw in person...in no particular order.

1. Nick Van Smack
2. Steve Logan
3. IMac - lock down d like no other
4. Jihad Muhammad - so much heart on such a talent-poor team
5. Durden / Burton - I know it's a cop out bit they're interchangeable in my mind.

Mine favorites would be:

F-Hicks
F-Oscar
G-Kilpatrick
G-Van Exel

Anyone who puts Brannen on their list obviously never met the guy.

Logan-great shooter, creator, and could finish or get fouled and make them
Fortson-unstoppable, unless fouled, and then made the free throws
Barwin- great effort, fun to watch

I used to love watching The Rock play in games because that usually meant that we were putting the beat down on somebody and I was getting a free sandwich from Subway!

Although I would have to add Hicks and it would be tough to leave off Herb Jones.

As far as true favorite, might have to be Maxiell.

Somehow I think Gary Clark is going to make his way into this conversation as well.

Well FWIW, if they want to test that statement all they have to do is hang around a certain bar in Reading.

To be favorite, I think it has to be someone you personally watched... So that pretty much starts me at 1992 and even then I probably didn't fully appreciate what I was watching until 1994. My first favorite player was Anthony Buford, but I think that was largely because he was my Dad's favorite (same reason my first favorite football player was David Small). Anyways here's my favorites:

C. Kenyon Martin- And the best UC player I ever watched. As a senior he was amazing. Did everything and every part of the offense ran through him.
PF. Eric Hicks- Just a beast of a Bearcat. Fun to watch and the few times I ran into him in college he was a pretty nice dude.
SF/SG Immanuel Mccelroy- First of two players from my favorite Bearcat team. I loved watching him play. Best perimeter defender I can remember at UC and seemed to really make plays when it mattered.
SG Darnell Burton- It was between him and the Gunslinger, but there was something about Burton's game I always liked a little more.
PG Steve Logan- He was the best. Loved Huggins quote about recruiting Logan when he said he never saw a short fat kid play basketball like that.

Roger McClendon will be my favorite forever. If they had a three point line back then, he would have put up unreal numbers. Plus, he was the only real threat on the team, so he was often double teamed.

I think Oscar would have benefitted from a three point line a bit more than Roger though.
