Ernie Banks, RIP
I heard tonight that Ernie Banks died. He was a hell of a ballplayer, I remember him from my early years, growing up and playing baseball.

"Ernie Banks, the man who's Hall of Fame baseball career was defined by his passion and energy, and only surpassed by his kindness and loyalty, died on Friday. He was 83."

RE: Ernie Banks, RIP
Damn that sucks. Greatest Cub of all time imo.

He cracked 40+ HR's 5 different times before the age of 30. 5 times in a 6 year stretch from 1955-1960.

2 time NL MVP and he played on some AWFUL teams for almost 2 decades strait.

Over his 19 year career, the cubs won 90+ games one damn time. They finished over .500 just 5 times (two of those were his final 2 seasons in which he hardly played). So he essentially played on a winning team 3 times.

8 years of 90+ losses. UGH

God Speed Mr Cub.

He will be missed. What makes it even sadder is that this year many experts are picking Cubs to do something they haven't done in 108 years. A shame that he will not be around to see history.

LET'S DO IT FOR ERNIE
