Yet, Obama stated during the SOTU that it's time we all get behind and support them. Sigh. Modern unions are just a bunch of money siphoning, laziness. Unions had their time in the sun, a time when they actually helped American business and protected the working class. Now, all they do is screw all of us over.

Only union I belong to is the Union of the United States of America, God Bless. 'Merica. Was part of the Meijer Union for about 3 months, only found one person to benefit from the union for being unjustly fired, did nothing for me other than give me less hours for hard work than someone who'd been there longer than me.

It is the public sector unions, like SEIU, with which I have the greatest issue.

Compared to a private sector union negotiating for whatever they deem important at the time, the publix unions have the advantage of a government behind them, sheilding them from the consequences and competition they would face in an open market.

Unions are just a tool to strong-arm higher wages than are attainable in a free market.
