IF CUSA is a no go they seem to be high on MVC. I wonder if the MVC would jump to 12 with UAB and UALR? MVC might work but i'd all the big east and A10 first but they probably hang up. THan i'd shot for either the mvc or sun belt. If those 2 don't work, i'd go for the southern conference but i think either the sunbelt or mvc would take them.

UALR is in a very similar boat to UAB as the University of Arkansas makes most of the important decisions for the school. I don't think UAF would approve UALR moving to the MVC.

The MVC wouldn't approve of UAB or UALR.

I don't want a team that far away joining my conference and neither does Doug Elgin.

I have long contended that UAB would fit real good, alongside bball only programs like UTA and UALR, in the Belt.
I think Benson is building a decent conference using the hybrid model, and adding UAB would make the Belt a good Southern basketball conference. With USA and Troy, UAB will have a great setup in the Belch.
The question is, will the Belch see UAB as attractive? Or are they looking for an all-sports program with that last spot. Does UAB bring anything to the table? How about a UAB/UMASS combo in the Belt.
The Dragons will likely be able to grow basketball, since the other Belt programs are spending on football too.
I understand Watts strategy. They could become a basketball fladship, carrying the SBC flag.
Please explain two things. 1st, how does one get -46 rating with a 3 month membership and 2nd) "Gents". What gives?

Yes, the title of the thread pretty much gives you the answer. I'm sure sunbelt fans have an issue with a "gent" who refers to them as "the sun belch conference"

Any C-USA fan should understand how irritating sophomoric references like that are. How many times have I seen C-DOA and thought, lord this poster is a moron. The Sun Belt and C-USA deserve better.

Watts may very well lose his job, but most likely won't be replaced at all.

I have a degree from UALR, I respect my second alma mater but they in no way shape nor form fit the MVC profile.
