OT: This World Has Serious Problems
When a press conference needs to be held so that a football player can talk about the inflation level of a ball.
WTF?

And why does Tom Brady wear a toboggan hat indoors?

After bountygate, I hope they fold the team. New England spies on practices and deflates balls. What do they lose? a few draft picks. We lose our coach for an entire season.

I switched over from espn to see if the news channels were covering it live. CNN, FNC, and even Fox Business were showing it live.
FWIW, I thought Brady was not credible.

Not the rationalization I'd use to explain the title, though I agree with it.

Like SI used to write. A sign of the Apocalypse.
BTW, I have some footballs that aren't just low. They are completely flat. What should I do? Dial 911?
Fake Bo Palin asked the Pope if he should burn his. This isn't just an isolated incident. Clearly we have an epidemic in our midst.
Are any of you having any problems with flat balls?

RE: This World Has Serious Problems
**** is so stupid. I dunno the whole story nor do I care. Baseball pitchers mess with the ball, players mess with pin tar, gloves, etc. Hockey players mess with curve in their sticks, goalies pad size, etc. Recruiting players for money/or anything in college basketball/football, Seahawks with adderall use, other teams getting busted with players using other drugs.
The weather could be a factor as well, just like tires in the cold.
What it comes down to is the media are a bunch of little weasels looking for stories and making something a huge deal. All the findings haven't even been released but the speculation is hilarious.

Don't have a dog in the fight, but do have a few questions.
Unless the Patriots deflate balls every game, wouldn't the ball feel different to Brady and potentially impact his accuracy if it was nearly 20% under inflated?
Next, the refs handle the ball after every play. These guys do this all season and most have been doing it for years, even decades. Wouldn't they notice if a ball was really under inflated? Wouldn't they notice the balls the Pats were using were "softer" than those of the Colts? I would think if you were always holding a football that was inflated properly and someone tossed you one almost 20% light on pressure you would notice. I'm sure most on here have picked up a basketball that's been sitting for a while in the garage. As soon as you put your hands on it you know whether or not you have to put some air in it.

The Pats balls were inflated correctly. It was the 12 balls that Indy was given to play with that 11 of the 12 were improperly inflated by 2 pounds.
The Pats will lose some 4th or 5th round draft pick and fined a few thousand dollars. This all goes back to the owner though. When Robert Craft 1st learned of SpyGate he should have fired Belecheck on the spot. If he would have we wouldn't be hearing anything like this now, things like this always go back to the Owner.
Im a Steelers fan and the Rooney's aren't known for firing coaches (3 coaches since 1969). But if something like this went on at Pittsburgh I have no doubt that there would be a house cleaning starting with the HC.

If I were married to Gissele, my balls would always be deflated too.

Sorry, that's incorrect. Each team supplies it's own balls, the complaint/allegation is that the Pats deflated the ones they were using because it makes them easier to throw and catch in cold, wet conditions.

Is there any chance that this will result in the Panthers being given the Super Bowl XXXVIII Lombardy Trophy?
No?
Then IDGAF.

I really get the sense that no one in news media even realizes that Tom Brady just punked all of them.
It's freakin hilarious. Brady and the Pats have made a mockery of this whole thing. Frankly, I don't blame them. This ranks up there pretty high on the absurdity list.

I'm assuming by "our coach" you mean Sean Payton. If so weren't you guys giving bonuses for hurting players or something of that nature. Let's see, film signals, deflate balls, or intentionally hurt people, I think I know which one is worse than the others. I'm sure you think it's filming signals though, lol.
