ODU to return to practice field in late February

Old Dominion will begin spring practice on Feb. 28 and hold its annual spring football game six weeks later on April 11 at Foreman Field, university

It's already on my calendar. I can't wait to see our quarterbacks at work.

Same here AGGIE.

This year will be especially exciting and interesting to watch, not only the QB competition but WR's as well. I am really looking forward to watching all the new faces and how they will impact the overall upward trajectory for the program. My expectations are high and I'm anticipation great things for 2015 and beyond.

I just hope they don't combine that race with the Spring Game and Big Blue BBQ again this year. It was a circus last year and ruined the intimacy of the BBQ.

I thought it was great having such a big crowd for this combined event. They just need to drastically improve the food & beverage service to accomodate the numbers. I hope they learned a few things from last year.

Absolutely way too crowded and the food ran out early. I have no problem with the race being combined with the Spring game or the BBQ with the Spring game bi=ut not all three at the same time. What made the Big Blue BBQ so great was it was just for basketball and you got to migle with the players and coaches. By moving it up from May to coincide with the Spring game it sometime is during a recruiting period and some coaches are not there. A large percentage of the runners had no interest in ODU BB nor FB.

MH, at least in my case that made it mutual. I had non interest in running.

Here is the latest Phil Steele report on returning starters by position, by team. Looks like we have 13; 8 on offense and 5... or is it 7 on defense, placing us in a tie for 4th in CUSA:

That's incorrect, we have two starting LB's returning in Martez Simpson & T J Ricks.

"Riddle me this batman! What does 3+1+1+1+1=?" I think it is 7 and not 5 as shown in the chart. Perhaps Steele is a closet JMPoo fan?
