Last game of the OOC schedule is set, as FIU will host NC-Central. North Carolina-Central, went 7-5 last year, 6-2 in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, 0-1 vs. FBS (52-7 loss to East Carolina) and 0-1 vs. transitional FBS (40-28 loss to Charlotte).
FIU's OOC will consists of 3 away games and the home game with NC-Central:
@UCF (@FIU in 2016)
@UMass (@FIU in 2018)
@Indiana (@FIU in 2016)
NC-Central
All 3 of the road games are scheduled be be returned in future years.

How does FIU's football program look for 2015?
I like the OOC outside of UCF, the others appear winnable...if FIU has improved.

RE: FIU Football completes 2015 OOC schedule
Honestly, when we hired Ron Turner, I was extremely disappointed. I think the lifeblood of any program is recruiting and I just didn't see it with him. However, his staff has done a good job in keeping FIU in the recruiting game, Top 4 at the moment, and really up there with any other C-USA program as far as that is concerned. The past 2 years have been difficult transition years, however, you can see the seeds planted. The defense was one of the most exciting in the conference and we don't lose much there, 3 starters (2 safeties and a DL), most of the other contributors are back. Most importantly, Richard Leonard is back and that should help us in trying to continue our aggressive schemes since he can go 1 on 1 with most WR's. He's also a threat in punt and kick returns. Our offense should also show improvement, FIU had a freshman QB and RB, both of which where all freshmen C-USA. Not to mention we still have Jonnu Smith. Our biggest concerns are the OL and our WR's. I think the OL will be better with another year experience and more of Coach Turner recruits getting those slots. I don't know how WR is a problem with all the speed and talent we have in So. Fla, but for some reason it still is. I hope some of this year's recruits will take care of that, we are excited about Anthony Jones (ATH) who is already enrolled and chose FIU over an offer from the university of miami. I have to say that over all, I'm optimistic about what next year and the program itself. I think we can be bowl eligible next year and I think there are only a couple of teams in C-USA that I don't see us being competitive against. Go F I U!

I think many, if not most of you guys, will be surprised. We should be better. Defense returns almost intact except for the safeties and a DE. 2 of the 3 are easily replaced (the safety Perkins will be missed). The biggest loss on defense is our DC. Took the DC job at Pitt and he was a good one. We will see how the defense responds to a new DC.
Offense should improve. We struggled at OL and WR. We also had a true freshman QB and RB. I think the offense will be good in the long run due to Turner's system once he gets the right guys in his system.
I am pleasantly surprised with our head coach and his staff. He is doing and saying all the right things and most of us are coming around to him. Recruiting is improving astronomically almost on a daily basis. As was mentioned above, Anthony Jones may be one of our top recruits ever. Like TY Hilton and Cyprien before, this guy has been given 2 stars and ignored by the recruiting community but UMiami offered him and he is loved by our local recruiters. His high school coach has basically stated that he was a steal. His game film is crazy. His weakness appears to be he is short and lacks the weight to get those extra stars like TY Hilton.
All in all, we will surprise a few of you guys and maybe even the coaches and teams themselves. Not saying we will finish top 5, but would not be surprised if we beat at least one of the top 3 C-USA teams next year. You heard it here first.

Good news FIU! Charlotte beat NC Central last year. Won't discuss us almost blowing our 40-0 lead. Nonetheless, I like your chances here.

All good to hear. FIU has its struggles but there's a lot to sell with South Florida.

UMass is horrible. It is a good trip to Boston area, plus a very winnable game in a nice area. Hope FIU sees some more success this upcoming year.
Football should be big in South Florida in 2015. Miami's got a great slate, hope FIU does well and people get interested.
