RE: ENOS LEAVES FOR ARKANSAS
Bajakian has taken QB coach position with Buccaneers.

Azzanni now probably front-runner unless Heeke wants somebody with HC experience.

Annese was HC at Grand Rapids Community College 2009-11, won two national Juco championships there.

Before that he was a long-time HS coach. Won three state championshiops at Muskegon.

He has been preparing for a job like CMU's for long time. As a Bronco I hope they don't hire him. He could get them back to Kelly-Jones era level.

Why do you believe Azzanni is the frontrunner? Is that your opinion, or have you heard/read something somewhere?

RE: ENOS LEAVES FOR ARKANSAS
Zach Azzanni is the P.J. Fleck-type hire that CMU probably should go after in order to stay competitive on the recruiting trail.

Tony Annese is the safe -- not necessarily the best, but probably good -- choice IMO.

Azzanni only makes $300k at Tennessee, so it's conceivable that he'd leave for a head coaching gig at CMU for the right price.

Will be interesting to see what direction Heeke goes.

RE: ENOS LEAVES FOR ARKANSAS
Bad timing aside, I would've done the same if I'd been in Enos' shoes. A future at CMU was uncertain at best. And here's an offer of a six-digit salary raise to coach in a "big time" college football town with a little pressure taken off your shoulders (and far fewer days where a parka and snow boots are required). Still young enough to make future moves if he'd like.

I was thinking the same.

Maybe another run at Logan Slaughter (Mendon kid) too. Who knows, he might give us a sniff now. Although we have plenty of incoming OL, it's still hard to pass up on good local talent.

This kid had one Div. 1 offer, CMU

He'd have had more had he stayed on the market. I've seen him, he's legit. Good size, motor, could play either LBer or DE. But with the UAB kid coming in they may not need to use it on another LBer.

Dont need much from CMU at this point...think we have done pretty good on our own...

Two of those are already enrolled, so they don't count towards this year. One is not coming for sure. There may be a couple in there that are grey shirts the staff knows about, meaning they count towards next year. And, right now, they are recruiting grey shirts to help get around the number.

I've tried to drop hints about this for a while.

There is another one too.

he was just in town for an official visit this past weekend. Allen Trieu from scout.com is the one reporting it.

This didn't just happen over the past 5 days.

RE: ENOS LEAVES FOR ARKANSAS
If you lose them to a P5 what are you going to do? It's a hard sell.

If Junior picks IU he can brag to his friends................

"Did you see me on BTN last week."

Yeah dude, 63-7, Ohio State, tough break.

"Yeah, but I was on BTN."

Yeah..................

He might choose Minnesota though, in which case I couldn't blame him. It's a program on the rise.

And why did they drop him? Wanted someone they could count on being here? Had other options and didn't want to play the wait and see game?

Yeah McMullen was dropped back in the fall. I'm surprised it took this long to get out.

Conder is the other one. He isn't coming here. He'll go with La Tech assuming they still have a spot for him.
