RE: Hottest College in America Tour @ Dayton Art Institute
Some more info... I walked in and was one of the younger alums there. Didn't know anyone so I went to one of the high top tables to eat some of the snacks provided. Some guy walked up to me in a suit and said, "Hey there, I like the jacket". I look up and it's Mike Bohn. I ended up talking to him for the next 20 minutes.

Some tidbits. This is all I remember for right now.

The enquirer didn't break the Under Armour story. Adidas put out a press release because they were pissed.

Bohn said they "worked their asses off" to secure that deal and that it more than doubles the current money

He said that shutting down Calhoun is out because the city said it is a primary egress route after football games. They are going to shut down short vine instead

Under Armour has assured UC that they'll get the Notre Dame treatment where they incorporate UC things into the uniforms. I told him about the city flag suggestion and he liked it a lot.

He said that the Under Armour deal will make UC more appealing to the BIG12.

I asked him about any other conferences... ACC... and he said that the BIG12 was the most likely

Asked Ono about the street car and he said that they are in talks to have it expanded to uptown, but UC may have to pay for some of it

Hmmm.... what else....

Eh, they have to have that sort of attitude publicly whether they believe (or know) it or not.

Don't think I met any of you guys. I'm the guy in the gray sweater with his hand on his face.

There's a ton more that I'm forgetting. There was so much. In fact, I tried to pull my phone out to record it, but got distracted and forgot.

They were so open about everything. Bohn really surprised me. Just based on his picture I figured he'd be really reserved and up tight. No, that dude is a sports nut and you can tell he's rowdy. Definitely the kind of guy I'd like to have a beer with.

I told him at the end that the fan experience at football games needs to be a Cincinnati experience... Cincinnati Flags... Cincinnati Food... Then he interrupted me and said, "Cincinnati Beers!" and gave me a fist bump. Ha!

Also when Bohn was talking about a renovated Nippert he said "we will be bringing in teams like UCLA, like Nebraska, like Pitt"…

I had head about getting Pitt on the schedule, but has UCLA and Nebraski been mentioned before?

Nebraska got announced in 2013. UCLA has been mentioned by Bohn a lot but not been announced officially.

Bohn was annoyed when I told him that some had suggested that the Under Armour stuff wasn't up to snuff. He had apparently heard that criticism before. He mentioned some pro basketball guy who's an under armour guy and said I needed to talk to him about their shoes and that their shoes had come a long way.

No, I didn't ask any questions. Had my hand up a few times. That guy was at the table behind me.

There was one guy practically in tears thanking Ono for being the face of UC and doing so much to market the University. That was a sentiment shared by many in attendance.

Did Bohno give any indication of possible Big 12 admission timeline?

Not in the large group. But in my private discussion with him he mentioned that we'll have to see what happens with the waiver. He did say, "It doesn't make sense for a conference called the Big12 to only have 10 teams".

Did you ask him what will happen if the waiver is approved?

How could you tell that they wanted to spill the beans? And how did he say that we are pretty much in?

That's what I recall him saying.

Well it was almost like they hadn't discussed how much they wanted to say before-hand. There were some awkward chuckles and both were smiling from ear to ear. Ono answered it in his way and then passed off the mic to Bohn and when he did so he said something like, "Maybe you can tell them more" or something like that.

So basically it looked as if they were trying to hold off saying we are going to the Big 12 but they wanted to?
