So I hold elected office within the GOP. And being in the Upstate of SC ... the strongest of the GOP strongholds in the state in the first in the South and 3rd primary of the year ... we get *EVERY* GOP contender coming through here.

A local county GOP sent out and email blast today saying ole "uh uh ... what was that other one Ron?" Perry is the guy coming in to town.

Of course he is. He's ready this time. He's my darkhorse to win the nomination. He can unite the Tea Party & establishment types. He's strongest in the GOP base (deep south). Plus he's got low expectations in the debates.

Sigh...

All the usual suspects. I love it.

The U.S. would be better off if it looked a little more like Texas.

Not one of my top choices, but we could do worse.

Rick Perry isn't the worst one that could get nominated the worst are:

- Lindsey Graham - if he wins the nomination I'll vote for Hillary and skip the House and Senate races in protest

- Jeb Bush or Chris Christie - I vote for Hillary in protest

- Mitt Romney - I might hold my nose and vote for him, but he would still lose so it doesn't matter.

I think Walker might be the most electable of any of the Republicans and somewhat out of the Reagan mold, a conservative governor in a democrat state. That said the Republicans don't have anyone considering a run that is the communicator Reagan was.

I would just like to offer the thought that a protest vote for a third party can have a larger ramification. Simpling reaching a certain vote threshold in most states is enough to guarantee Libertarian Party ballot access without having to do expensive signature drives and ballot access work.

He never stopped campaigning.
