Great article. I really think this is a tremendous hire. Hopefully he can have similar success as Gary Patterson has had at TCU and stay the course. I may be dead wrong but I feel like there are a lot of similarities in regards to size, location, etc... with TCU so if they can become a dominate team there isn't any reason to not think SMU couldn't do the same thing. And that is exactly what the conference needs a juggernaut football program to hang their hat on.

I very well might have moved up Herman to No. 2 after the season but it was an exciting feeling even then to have 3 great coaching prospects from which to chose-some years the pickings at the level you can attract and afford are not near as good. Should be fun

Friends told me that Herman blew away the SMU folks with his interview but Morris had been in the works for months.

I didn't know he interviewed with SMU? I heard he is an exceptionally smart guy.
