They should. They have the best record in the belt now.

Bracketology automatically puts the first place team in each conference in the NCAA bracket.

Whoever gets hot for 3 days will be in the tourney, and it certainly looks like anyone could win the tourney at this point.

RE: CBS and ESPN Bracketology both have ULM as SB team
ULM has been on a hot-streak. Ever since ULM brought #6 Florida into 2OT I thought they would be a force to be wreaked with in the Sunbelt Conference. I really think that the their new coach knows what he is doing to rebuild ULM's program, he is an alumni, and also he played ball for ULM.

Not trying to down play the Sunbelt conference, but I really do not think that a Sunbelt team could of brought #6 Florida to the house like ULM did.

This looks more and more true every day. There's still time for a team or two to find their feet and create some distance, but there's no hint of that happening so far.

Regular season champ still don't get squat but a good seed, there is no clear cut team better than the others. I thought georgia state was clearly the best team last year but I agree teams can still put together a run....but anything can happen in the conference tourney.

He is actually not a new coach. He is in his 5th season. The Sun Belt is a totally wide open conference. Just be one of the eight teams that qualifies for the post season tournament and you have as a good a shot as anyone. The last four seasons the best regular season team did not win the conference tournament.

ULM is playing well right now and and they did give Florida a tough game. But they also lost to Stamford by 14. Stamford is in last place in the Southern Conference at 0-8 and has a 316 RPI. ULM is like every other team in the SBC. They can beat anyone and they can lose to anyone.

They must have had a fancy formula to figure that one out.

How many years ago did APR wipeout ULM's basketball program to where they were on the level of a Jr High basketball team? That's an impressive turn around.

It might be worth noting that ULM beat UAB in Birmingham and the Blazers are 4-1 in CUSA. The Samford game was just an awful game and everybody's entitled to one or two of those.

If App State or Georgia Southern win the conference tournament, are they allowed to go to the NCAA Tournament?

I'll go with this as a real question, and say: As far as I know, yes to GS, but App won't have a shot at the postseason due to APR issues. Nothing to do with switching conferences.

Then I would imagine App isn't eligible to go to conference tournament

Where have you been? You obviously haven't been following App State basketball. That is understandable though...lots of folks fell off the wagon while Jason Capel was coach. 03-zzz

Was joking in reference to our ineligibility to bowls, but didn't know about the APR issue. I left the program while Capel was there and am slowly acclimating myself back in. Well, I guess I have nothing to add to this thread, so adios!
