WMU lost David Walker last year when he decommitted and went to Harvard. Not a bad reason for decommitting mind you, and it didn't hurt as much as if he had left to attend another MAC school. None the less it was considered a loss.

Walker played in two games, and had no receptions. I'm guessing he would have redshirted had he come here.

A few years back Mitch Zajac had a chance to go to Harvard, but opted to stay with WMU. He had a great career, was an academic wiz, and was working in the Upton campaign the last I checked.

Tim Cason, a DB out of Clarkston was considered WMUs number one recruit by many. Cason did not see the field his freshmen year at Purdue.

Our top commits from last year, according to ESPN:

Lonnie Johnson
Chance Stewart
J. Van Dort
J. Harris
K. Finley

ZERO SNAPS last year. Crazy eh?

The actual freshmen of impact this year turned out to be Franklin, Spillane, Braster, Deonte Brown, and the LS Piefer.

But I do think that several others from that class will end up being major contributors over the course of their career.

For sure. The offensive and defensive lineman will need a year or two of development. Two of our LB recruits got hurt. A couple of our WR recruits were at a position that is deep. We still haven't seen the best of this class yet.

Chukwuma Okorafor and Nick Matich should make that list of impact players too IMO.

Harvard won the Ivy League this year. He may not have directly contributed on the field in his freshman year, but he was part of a conference championship team.

Hopefully, our recent recruits will be able to say the same in the near future. 03-cloud9
