Yep. Once the snow ball starts rolling down the hill it will end in an avalanche of Obamacare mistruths, half-truths, far from the truths, etc. But, Obama had nothing to do with it. No knowledge. No briefings. No oversight. Teflon Barry strikes again.

It was bad legislation based on bad data and a faulty ideal.

I noticed this the moment it was starting to be discussed. I knew it was really bad when Democrats started to block review of the bill.

I'm hearing this is the first ever resignation filed in any presidential administration.

It actually is historic if you consider the fact that a healthcare bill with the far-reaching impact and scope of the ACA has not really been attempted in recent history.

The Act - provided it holds - will have lasting effects on this country and IS therefore historic.

The resignation of the head man behind this bill is therefore historic by proxy, is it not?

Well, first off, the person resigning is a woman.

Second, she's not the "head man" behind the ACA. There is no such individual.

She was the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Administrator. Her agency oversees insurance coverage for about 1 in 3 Americans. Her agency did write a lot of the new law and oversees the insurance exchanges, but it's a massive agency with many players. And in the past, the agency was been run by an acting administrator and she was the first permanent head it had in about 6 years.

Not to mention, she gave no official reason why she resigned. So to the right, it was obviously some sort of scandal.

Why do you keep calling it a bill?

If the IRS has been tasked with the job of enforcing this, it's a tax.

The ACA was a bill.

When most honorable people resign they cite reasons such as family concerns, health issues, or whatever. Giving no reason says volumes.

The ACA, was a piece of legislation...a bill. The ramifications of it, yes, can cause rise to a tax. That doesn't change the FACT that it was a bill.
