Memphis has suspended 12 players. Meanwhile BYU has not taken any disciplinary action at this time.

Not sure 12 are suspended, but they should all get medals for defending themselves.

Memphis did the political thing but I'd like to see those sucker punchers and cheap shot artists announce something.

I'm surprised the NCAA hasn't barred them from bowl action next year. That is what Clemson and Souf Carolina did when they had their fight and it wasn't nearly as violent as the fight in Miami, using helmets as weapons, busted up faces and kicking people in the head. BYU not even suspending the kid with a bloody face is a bit disturbing.

If Memphis did suspend 12 players then they did the right thing. If byu doesn't do anything then that says a lot about them. What kind of suspensions did Memphis give out? 1game? 1 workout lol?

Well, we will see how all of this shakes out.

If we had stood there after being attacked, especially by #12, like a bunch of choir boys; we'd be roundly criticized. Many incorrectly (in my admittedly biased opinion) claimed that we were overly aggressive and we were also criticized. It was a no-win situation for the players, either way they were going to be called pansies or thugs by some.

I believe that those who viewed all of the replays could see that most of Memphis' swings/etc were in result/response to clear aggression by BYU players. We will see how serious BYU is about discipline. Reacting to a swing that is aimed directly at you is different than throwing the initial swing.....especially in a sport that demands aggression to be successful.

Yeah but there were some things that Memphis should not have done. Like swing helmets at people. I don't think we need to go through this debate again. I think it shows class that Memphis is acting with discipline. It's the right thing to do here as its already a lose lose situation.

I'm not debating it again. The replay clearly shows what happened and who did what.

My only meaningful comment is that we will now see what the instigators do to discipline those that caused the event.

I'd gladly take them. We need a cult to drive up tv ratings.
