No one said that.

I guess you would applaud the guy who sucker punched our kid while with a coach. How about the guy who started it? How about them talking trash all week? How about their coach lying? How about all the cheap shots during the game and the season for that matter?

It was a fight, people were punished, we didn't start it, but we did finish it. We suspended 12 players because of this BS.

Seriously, how many people have been in fight they didn't start? It happens.

Screw BYU.

I call BS on the bolded. I've said, and will continue to say, that those "suspensions" were nothing more than Memphis making it look like they're coming down with the hammah on those 12 players.

All for show, as the kids used to say!!

You don't know that until you see the game suspensions, which won't be announced until just before the season starting, b/c some suspension lengths will depend on the other work they have to do between now and then.

And so far, BYU has announced nothing. If ours is all for show, what is theirs? You don't seem so indignant about them. The ones who started this.

I thought BYU fans wore blue goggles. As a Menphis fan I see you are wearing your own goggles. I am sure you saw who started the fight. I saw 3 or more players plying on one player and one was swinging a helmet. Just because BYU did not announce the punishments yet, I can assure you that a number of players will get punished as bad or more than the memphis players. It was a bad scene and bad for both teams. It was a hard fought game that ended very badly. Both teams were at fault. Great victory for memphis and horrible loss for BYU. In fact the season went down the tube after the utah state loss and the huge number of lost players due to season ending injuries. As a BYU fan it was not a nice thing to see and the sucker punch was the worse of a bad scene. I don't know what caused the kid to do it but that was the cherry on top of an ugly cake.

Bwahahaha. Keep crying. The winning team does not start the fight. You have a bunch of mommas boys coached by a mommas boy. Cheap shots an running mouth the whole game. Lol. In all my years of watching football byu is the same cheap shots, whiney fans and hurt players as an excuse. I predicted all of this a BEFORE the game and you guys lived up to expectations.

But please keep whining we love it

Your dilike for BYU is palpable. In the west byu was disliked because we used to dominate the mwc and wac. So what really is your issue?

Ohiocougar, this has been a horrible topic on this board that's had emotions from all directions raging beginning the day of the bowl. You just happened to walk into an unusual situation. I read your previous posts just to see if you were trolling and trying to stir the pot, but you're obviously not. Several attempts to have reasonable and adult conversations around this topic have resulted in name-calving, finger pointing, etc from folks that didn't even have a program in the game or sing in the brawl.

I was probably less than mature myself in dealing with knuckleheads who were taking advantage of a 50/50 situation to make Memphis look bad.

It was a bad scene for both universities. Good luck to the Cougars down the road.
Thanks for the cordial reply. I was just responding to attacks made against BYU. And unfounded accusations that BYU started the fight. The fight was bad for both teams. I have never seen Byu in a fight before durning or after a game before in my life. I am sure BYU shares some blame and the sucker punch was the worse of the worse. Even though 2014 had a winning record the season left a bad taste to most byu fans. Significant losses of key players, losses to teams we thought we were better than like utah state and nevada and still being on the outside looking in the college football world made for a less than enjoyable season. Good luck with your team. I have been a supporter or byu joining the aac, but it looks like that boat is gone. Again good luck and go BYU.

Exactly. That is my "issue." They lived up to their reputation before, during, and after the game. Dude thinks all those teams hate them because they dominated them, but they hate them for their cheap shots. Their players are older and their classless play seems to contradict their religion which they hide behind. Also, a lot of Tiger fans at the game came away very unimpressed with their fans.

RE: Miami Beach Bowl Fallout
Can't wait for BYU to return to this bowl. Great game in a great city despite the altercation in the end. The bowl needs a better time and a date closer to NYE to be successful though. Once it gets the better date and time along with a better payout the B-12, PAC-12, and ACC will show more interest in this bowl as well as BYU as an independent. The Miami Bowl is up and running - build on it.
