MTSU is deceptive because over their last 4 games they have 3 guys in double figure scoring but for the season they are one of three teams out of 350 teams with no double figure season scorers. They are a tough bunch.

We also got our numbers playing a tougher OOC schedule (45) than them (154).

That's a crazy stat, especially when you look at their size and the tallest guy is 6'8" with a couple of 6'7" guys.

They have only beaten one team with a winning record !

other odd MTSU stats (slow work week):

in their 8 losses they have shot 39 fewer FTs, committed 17 more TOs and shot .309 from 3.

in their 10 wins they have shot 33 more FTs, committed 23 fewer TOs and shot .382 from 3.

They have out-rebounded their opposition both winning and losing.

Now, obviously they had better stats winning vs losing, but MTSU shoots poorly overall, so extra possessions, getting to the FT line and finding a hot hand from 3 seem to be their keys to victory.

I just hope they guys look prepared for the zone, and not the normal "deer in headlights" the last few times we have played against a zone. It seems like it takes them the first 10 minutes of the game to figure out what is going on. A slow start tonight could be tough to pull out of when points and second chance baskets will be at a premium.
