If GS and App were eligible last year in fb . . . .
and we had the 4 guaranteed bowls that we will have this coming year who would have gone to what bowl?

If would have been
GS 9-3 (8-0) Conference champs
Louisiana 8-4 (7-1)
App. St. 7-5 (6-2)
Texas St. 7-5 (5-3)
Ark. St. 7-5 (5-3)
South Alabama 6-6 (5-3)

That would have been 6 bowl eligible teams. I think GS as conference champ would have been guaranteed some bowl but I don't think it would have been guaranteed to be the NO Bowl.

Here is what I think:
NO Bowl-- I think Louisiana would have still gone there. In fact as long as they are bowl eligible they probably will continue to go there.

GoDaddy Bowl: I believe GS would have gone here

Camilla Bowl: I believe Ark. St. would have gone here

Cure Bowl: It would have been between South Alabama and App. St. but my guess would be that App. St. would have been picked.

Texas St. and USA would have be on the outside looking in.

I hope this coming year all bowl eligible teams 7-5 or better go.

Is this how others see it?

1) Will the Cure Bowl be the lower level bowl for the SBC vs. AAC?
2) Do the SB bowls rotate as far as who gets the better teams?

The bowls pick in order (this may or may not rotate). Conference champ is only one that gets a spot for sure. After that the bowls take whomever they want. I think it would have been the same execpt GS to the Cure.

Depending on the bowls pecking orders, I'd say good shot that App & Texas State would be sitting at home.

Cure would probably have gone for stAte over App, as Camelia would have chased USA/stAte.

Go Daddy picks up the highest school they can, being Georgia Southern, and NOLA bowl grabs the Cajuns.

Regarding #1, it is a lower level bowl due to exposure. It is an interesting game, but being on CBS Sports kind of kills it.

Thank you chiefsfan. You may have just helped me win an argument. I agree -- we would have gone to GoDaddy. The fellow GS fan who I was debating was arguing we would have gone to Cure Bowl.
