Would be really nice if we could get 4 teams into the tournament.

Wonder if SMU will even be in the Tournament considering they played Frazier in some of this season's games.

Better hope they are in the tournament. They are one of our best chances at getting extra cash for ALL the schools in our league.

I agree, but TIGERCITY raises a legitimate question.

RE: Latest Bracket Projections - AAC
Looking at Lunardi's bracket, and realizing he always puts the team at the top of the conference standings in as an autobid, he's saying there are two teams that could get an at-large at this point, SMU and Cincinnati. With conference play underway, which means a win for team A is a loss for team B, I think the only way the AAC sees more than two teams in the tourney this year is for someone other than one of the top three or four to win the conference tourney. If UCONN wins the tourney being played in Connecticut then it could be UCONN, SMU, Cincinnati. I think Tulsa, Memphis, and possibly Temple could get in the mix by winning the regular season but I still think it will be two or three bids depending on who wins the tourney.

More like 3-4
I think baring a collapse SMU and UC are in. We will get one more in from Tulsa,Temple or UConn. So the fourth could be if any from those last three or Memphis wins the tourney.

Yep, that wasn't a slam, just a real cause for concern. I hope they make it too, great for the league, but if Frazier was ineligible anything can happen.

...and there you have it! The first poster to grip about bids!! Took a lot longer than I thought, but there it is.
Note: Lunardi's a freakin' hack! I take nothing he says seriously. UCONN will be fine.

Staying firm on 3, only 4 if one of them is UConn. UConn will pull together a nice string of conference wins that will gain attention and put them on the bubble. On the bubble=in if you spell your basketball UConn.

seriously? kick ethics to the curb? I would like to think if violations were uncovered before the tourney, said violator would not be allowed to participate.
The other contenders need to step up their game and pull the weight for the AAC.

Great for league that it's "alledged" top program cheated it's way to the top?

So what's the problem? It's a message board and he responded to a thread titled Latest Bracket Projections-AAC. He wasn't insulting or harassing to anyone, he simply voiced an opinion. This isn't North Korea, where only the most sugary observations are allowed or welcome. And I hope you're right about UCONN, but they're certainly not a lock, despite what some people around here seem to think.

There's no problem at all. I mentioned in the 1/16(?) game thread, that after UCONN lost there would be gripping about how many bids the AAC would get. Thus, my post above.

Temple or Uconn could win the AAC tourney. There are way too many games left.

Tulsa,SMU and UC look pretty good now. Temple or UConn could win tourney or go on a streak and get in the Dance.
So I think three is pretty safe maybe four.

My understanding is that KF was declared ineligible for the Spring semester at SMU based on fall semester academics. He was eligible for all games in the fall semester, which ended mid January. He is currently enrolled at SMU for the Spring semester and practicing. He has appealed his eligibility for the Spring.
