So far as I know Ty Cockfield, Eddie Reese have not signed, I think Kenrick Gray from Vermont Prep is still unsigned, a player we offered although I think its an outdated offer is Ryan Kiley and of course Epps?! Those are the only public offers I know of. This of course does not include any transfer players we might pick up.

Maybe this will all be resolved by the 4th of July.

Players have tough calls to make.

As I see SF: Bond, Harris, Groce. Epps would have been a 4th.

Would it have been in Bernard's best interest to sign with EMU? Is SF a bit log jammed?

I want a SG and maybe another PF.

Is Cockfield a PG or SG?

Not sure we need a PG after getting Ellison.

We need a pure shooter at SG.

According to Verbalcommits.com, we offered or whatever Cockfield in mid-Feb and Ellison in mid-March.

That suggests that we 'moved on' from Cockfield to Ellison. I'm not sure Cockfield wants to spend two years behind Paul Jackson.

A transfer sitout + frosh is the way to go, IMO. If Ellison can handle the backup PG duties as a frosh it is his, otherwise, Bond?

I don't see any offers we have out there publicly that are to pure shooting guards most are to a combo guard like Cockfield or point guard like Reese. By the way we offered 3 star point guard Marcus Shaver Jr after Ellison committed to us on March 13, 2017 per verbal commits. Epps was not a shooting guard but shooting wing.At this point I be happy if we can two quality guards point combo or shooting makes no difference to me. Back to the transfer lists?

Murphy needs to win at least 20 next year or face the possibility of being unemployed. And honestly LWH and Madray in retrospect did not bring much to the winning last year.

We'll get our SG. No word doesn't mean nothing is happening.

Hopefully an impact SG not just someone to fill the position. Wonder how the hiring of assistants is going

Matt Cline has been confirmed by Hoopdirt as an assistant. Don't know who the other one is.

We offered another high school PG. Kevin McAdoo out of West Bloomfield. 6'2 slasher...looks more like a combo guard to me. Interesting film. Tons of it on YouTube.

Had an offer from Buffalo before the season started. Not sure if it still stands, but Nate Oats already has a good track record with finding recruits.

RE: 2016/17/18 Men's Basketball Recruiting
Got through about half of his tape and it was pretty impressive. Looks like a true scorer at the highest level of basketball in the state. Creates his own shot, beats guys off the dribble, and can finish in traffic above some big dudes. Doesn't look too interested in passing, but the highlights might just not do him justice in that regard.

Reminds me a lot of Carlos Medlock. Great scorer who's probably not really a point guard.

http://wbspectrum.com/11352/showcase/spo...in-mcadoo/

Kevin McAdoo, 6-2, Sr., G, West Bloomfield

The bigger the game, the better McAdoo played, averaging 24 points, five rebounds and four assists to lead West Bloomfield to its first Class A district championship since 2003, then 34 in the regional final win over Novi, scoring five points during the final 12 seconds to turn a 66-62 deficit into a 67-66 victory, paving the way for a Final Four spot at the Breslin Center. “I think Kevin McAdoo is one of the best guards in the state,” coach Jeremy Denha said. “He’s quick, can score in multiple ways and demands to guard the other team’s best players.”

RE: 2016/17/18 Men's Basketball Recruiting
Last year I believe the signees were announced in early August. We have three confirmed signees and one unconfirmed assistant coach with no official announcement. I wonder if they will do one announcement for the three and Cline and another one later with the other assistant and maybe one or two more players.

I believe the " unofficial" workouts are to start in less than 25 days. It would be nice to have all the players signed and participating.

There doesn't appear to be any overseas trip and games this year. I wonder if EMU players will be participating in Moneyball this year which starts at the end of June.

To save money, I heard the athletic department is allowed to make one press release per quarter. This means we will announce late Football and Basketball additions at the same time we reveal the new AD.

LOL I am kidding

My guess is that unless there are eligibility issues, I don't know why EMU can't put up a roster by June 22 when the players should be on campus and in school.

I assume a SG and one other scholarship could be held for whatever...

As far as coaches, both should be announced at one time.
