Fighting Back
"Western Michigan has won seven of its last 10 games after taking 5 points from Duluth this weekend"

Quote:The Western Michigan that ended November and has played since that point is a very different team than the one that Miami swept on the weekend of Nov. 21-22.

The Broncos, who were 3-8-1 at that point, have won seven of their last 10 games, including Saturday's 4-2 win over Minnesota Duluth. The Broncos beat the Bulldogs with a shootout win on Friday night to end the weekend with five important points in NCHC play.

WMU's game has improved entirely since its early-season struggles. On its current stretch, the Broncos have scored at least four goals six times and allowed more than two just once.

WIth five points this weekend, the Broncos are seven points behind Miami in fourth place in the NCHC standings.

People are noticing. Poll voters will, too. Have to say that Hafner's play has been a big factor, too.

RE: Broncos are cover story on CHN
I'm quite excited to compile the stats tomorrow afternoon. This team's starting to gel and could make some real noise these final two months of the season.

We're planning on being in Lawson for the series against NoDak next month. Should be fun!

RE: Broncos are cover story on CHN
The CHN article I linked above had our position incorrect, in terms of the standings.

We are exactly halfway through the conference schedule, having played 12 of 24 conference games.

NATIONAL COLLEGIATE HOCKEY CONFERENCE
Team: W-L-T-SOW-Pts

Nebraska-Omaha 9-4-1-1 29
Minnesota-Duluth 8-5-1-0 25
North Dakota 7-4-1-0 22
Miami 7-5-0-0 21
Denver 6-5-0-0 18
Western Michigan 3-6-3-3 15
St. Cloud State 4-7-1-0 13
Colorado College 1-9-1-0 4

Overall records:

UNO 15-6-3
UMD 13-8-1
UND 16-5-2
MU 14-8-0
DU 13-7-1
WMU 10-9-3
SCSU 9-12-1
CC 5-14-1

In terms of our chances to move up in the pairwise, look at the following stats.

Overall record and winning percentage of opponents to date:

128-112-19 (0.4942)

Overall record of teams remaining on schedule (5 home, 6 away, 1 neutral):

72-53-8 (0.5414)
