The thing is, I'm much less inclined to believe any complaints of Hurley's, because he whines and stamps his feet about every little thing.

Both coaches should be a bit embarrassed, but their fans probably think only the other guy should.
It's not that big a situation in any event. Doesn't change the game a bit. The refs were correct in not calling anything on either coach. The game was decided on the court. Time to go home.
Why would Saul Phillips be embarrassed?

The officiating today was an absolute travesty. Buffalo had 15 or so team fouls in the second half while Ohio had 5. And Buffalo was not being more physical than Ohio. Also Ndour lowered his shoulder and ran over a UB player with about a minute left and there's no offensive foul but Buffalo couldn't breathe on him without it being a foul.
A Syracuse fan complaining about officiating?!?!?
Karma is a B!TCH!!!
Hurley is a Jackhole, dude acted like an inmature little brat in UB's loss at Toledo last year. You could tell how much coach TK loved it when Juice hit the game winnerand he could tell Hurley to shove it.

He was when play was live. Phillips didn't come on the court at all until the official had signaled time and was heading to the scorer's table. Sorry, Hurley's actions are those of a 7 year old who isn't getting his way. There isn't another coach in the league who would have said a word. And for him to spend time in his postgame interview harping on something that had absolutely zero effect on the game is beyond idiotic and frankly embarrassing.
He spent time on it because that is all the Ohio media would ask about. They were less concerned asking about the game than trying to get a reaction out of Hurley.

Hurley is whiny and annoying if you are an opposing fan or a ref. I have courtside seats (at Miami) and he bitched so much I asked a ref standing in front of me "why don't you just give him your whistle"? and the ref just shook his head and said "he certainly doesn't need a whistle" and started laughing.

Nope.
CryBobby Wrote:Hurley was the first to enter the postgame press conference, where he was asked about his demeanor in the game’s final moment.
Hurley’s response is quoted, verbatim, below:
“I was disappointed with the unprofessionalism of the Ohio coach. And how far he was allowed to come onto the floor at the end of the game while there was still time on the clock. The game was not over.
“But the referees did not do anything with that. That shouldn’t happen. It’s something, there’s rules in place for a reason. You’re not, as a coach, allowed to be out on the floor as we’re trying to finish the game.”

RE: MAC BBall WK11 (1/18 - 1/24)
By the way, Maryland beat Northwestern last night on a shot with 1.4 seconds to go and Mark Turgeon reacted almost exactly the same as Saul Phillips, except Turgeon threw in about 5 or 6 more fist pumps. Chris Collins, while obviously disappointed, was cordial during handshakes and didn't say a word in the press conference. What Phillips did happens 20 times a week in college basketball and I've never heard one other coach whine about it. Sorry but Saul has nothing to be embarrassed about. Hurley is just that kid that takes the ball and goes home if he loses.
