RE: Upset Saturday
I personally like that the conference is wide open. I think it makes for a more interesting race, and gives meaning to more of the games each week. In the end, we probably won't be competing for a title . . . It's only Kaspar's second year, but I think that ALL Bobcat fans would agree, so far we really like what we see. And who knows, if we can make the Tournament (conference), and get hot at the right time . . . .02-13-banana

I agree. It is nice to have Ga. Southern even mentioned as a threat to win the league. I enjoy the fact that there are numerous teams who could win the tourney (or so it appears at this point). Ga. Southern is much like Texas St. in basketball--- over the past few years neither of us has been very good and it is a welcomed change to actually put a team on the court who you feel is capable of winning any league game.

No one expected Louisiana to win the tournament except us die hard man it was fun. Now that anyone can win it this year I so looking forward to some good basketball in the tournament. People complain about it being held in New Orleans well its also St Patrick day weekend any one that attends will be treated to good basketball and a lot to do in the city. To me basketball is different than football. we have bowl tie ins so it doesn't matter as long as you are bowl eligible basketball its going to be one tournament SBC champ going to the dance so good luck to all.

It sure would be nice to eventually add NMSU & Mo St to give our basketball a boost. The conference needs it.

USA will be back soon. I'm starting to gain more confidence in Coach Graves. We have a really young team with little depth. I'm hoping last night's win is a sign of things to come. We showed our potential. I'm ready to have the Jags competing for the conference championship again.

I'm excited about our 7 footer that just joined the team... He will get some practice this year, but looking forward to him playing next year. I believe we are the youngest team in the Sun Belt, and might be the thinnest on depth (not sure), but we only graduate one senior and have some good ones coming in. You can see flashes of what this team is aiming to become and I like what I see.

No disrespect to USA but the first 13 minutes of the game with UL your team looked like a JV team your players looked like they didn't think they belong. Then your coach (whom I feel is a good coach) settled them down and they started playing as a team and the rest is history. If your team is a young as you say then you can look forward to some good USA basketball like the good ole days. Hats off to your team and congratulations on the victory.

Yes, they did look pretty disorganized at first but put it together and pulled off the upset. Like previously stated they're a very young team and also there is a lack of depth on this team. Thing is, though, college basketball games last 40 minutes and this bunch of kids pulled off an upset over the so-called "big dog" of the league. It's tough to lose but I'm sure you'll survive.

USA starts two freshmen, a sophomore, a junior and a .senior with the only two reliable reserves being a sophomore and a junior. Next year the size and depth will take a huge step forward.

My first choice: GSU is dominant in a multi-bid league.

My second choice: GSU is dominant in a one-bid league.

My third choice: GSU is in the mix in a really competitive conference where every game is a fight.

It could be a lot worse than my third choice.
