I used to think/worry that some of our "all-stars" from MTO were the most obnoxious and arrogant fans on this board and the previous conference board.

I have no worries about that any longer. Those guys have been far surpassed. :)

I'm fairly sure UCF has just as good a claim to being the best team in the league as Cincy and Memphis do, as much as I hate to defend all the smack talk UCF fans have been running.

This is a basketball thread and the whole "we dodged them" argument is old for football.

Rankings at this point are somewhat irrelevant for the upper part of the conference. We've played teams we should beat on the road and won with the possible exception of upsetting Temple. Things are going to iron out very quickly. We are certainly going to be the hunted now, not so much the hunter.


I still think SMU, Cincy, Memphis, UCONN pass the eye test over us. But that doesn't win games. That's why its so much fun.

Back to the topic of this thread...if anyone knows how to read standings, ECU and USF are tied for 9th.

Just questioned your method of ranking the teams and wether it was consistent with other sports. Sorry you didn't like the question. You didn't have to answer if you didn't like it.

Funny thing is, KL is defending his stance as clear and factual....that rankings are the same thing as standings. They are not the same...period.

Ranking-wise, ECU should be below USF given the way the two teams played. If ECU was clearly the better team but still lost somehow, I would rank them higher.

Either way...claiming that rankings should reflect what the standings have, purely because "standings" are posted on some site, is someone who does so without thought or knowledge. Yes, standings are used to determine seedings, etc. But that is solely to take out the subjective nature ranking seek to provide. The two are not the same.
