Marlowe in East West Shrine game right now
He elected to wear the giant Duke Dog logo on a purple chrome helmet instead of the standard JMU logo on a gold helmet.
I wonder how many people see that and say "WTF university is that"

also, Tre Mcbride from W&M is getting some burn

Yeah I think he should have gone with the gold helmet but whatever. I don't think he has been in yet. Unfortunately I read some reports on him this week that he didn't practice well, particularly in coverage. I always said he wasn't a 1 on 1 cover guy so I wasn't surprised at all. We knew that. Most safeties aren't.

He started for east defense. He'll be in next defensive series.

He has done pretty well so far. Not a lot of action, really. They haven't really thrown at him and the East has done a good job defensively at the LOS so he hasn't really gotten an opportunity to get in on tackles.

I didn't watch the game but read a few articles hoping to catch Marlowe's name. I noted that a kicker was the games MVP which tells us why all star games are generally awful. Heinicke went 2-9 with an INT so I would count this as a JMU win.

I watched the first half and recorded the game so will watch the second half later. Marlowe had a nice block on the intended receiver after the FL Atlantic player's interception. I believe he was in for at least three defensive sets in the 1st half.

Yeah, he didn't get a lot of action. Both offenses were bad and the East D line was living in the backfield. The practices during the week are a lot more important than the games for these events. There's no way you can install any type of offense and execute it in 4 days. They put a bunch of restrictions on the coverages and blitzes defenses can run because of this but it still doesn't really work.

Also had Jim Zorn coaching one of the teams, so pretty hard to imagine there was anything resembling a well-thought out concept on either side of the ball.
