Wait...I thought you guys were trying to win? MUTS Wide Receivers were horrible this year.

Yeah, our WR corps hasn't been great since Watts was here. Also, he was no longer handling recruiting coordinator duties for us. We did have a couple of outstanding individual talents while he was here (Anthony Amos), so take that for what it's worth.

Just FYI for App St fans, I think the only guy we're really going head to head for is DE/DT Jonathan Roth out of Knoxville. We'll see what happens there. I don't know if Watts was his recruiter or not.

We are looking at Roth at OL as well. He will be visiting this weekend, hopefully he likes what he sees.

The influx of UAB transfers is making room very tight in this class.

Rivals says you have five JUCOs committed. With the nine UAB transfers that gives you 14 transfers. Will be interesting how this class pans out this year.

It also has you guys at 21 recruits. Do none of the nine UAB transfers count toward the 25, or are you placing some of those 21 in JUCOs?

Only seven of the UAB recruits enrolled for the spring. The other two will enroll in the summer and count towards the 2016 class.

There are 20 total commitments (only four JUCOs - four early signees. The one remaining commitment you saw is no longer part of the class). Of those, one is a walk on (a kicker) and there will probably be blueshirts or grayshirts among the remainder.

That would give them 30, 14 of which are transfers of some kind, 5 of the remaining 16 high school recruits need to be sent to JUCO, leaving 11 high school kids for this class. Edit: AtlanaJag has clarified some of those, but its still an interesting class to see if it pans out or not.

It will pan out. Only one high school commitment needs to be moved to 2016 via blueshirt or grayshirt to meet the 25 limit. Others may need to do the same based on additional players that want to commit after this weekend.
USA is getting much more interest from quality recruits than they have spots to give.

RE: Big Recruiting weekend
Our recruiting is unofficially closed. Got our last commit over the weekend. WR/DB that played at Hawaii his freshman year. He transferred to a JUCO but did not play so he has 3 yrs to play 3. He is from VA and had 12 DI offers coming out of HS (incl. ACC, SEC, MWC.) The JUCO transfer was not due to grades because he was all academic MWC his freshman year. 3 Star at 247 coming out of HS.

Kwamane Bowens

He now checks in at 206 lbs.

Nice catch. He'll be a player in the SBC.

Senior Bowl game day should seal the deal! 03-thumbsup

Yeah there is a lot of excitement with this recruiting class. A lot of Texas Kids, they are impressive.
