Join the UAB National Alumni Society on Thursday, January 22 for a pregame dinner and pep rally with STUDENTS AND ALUMNI and featuring the UAB Marching Band.

Enjoy Dreamland BBQ at 5:00 p.m. at the UAB Alumni House. The UAB Marching Band will lead a Blazer Walk of students, alumni, and fans across campus to Bartow Arena at 6:15 p.m. Tipoff for the Blazers against Charlotte is 7:00 p.m.

Pep rally and dinner are FREE to UAB students with a valid ID and active National Alumni Society members.

Is it a coincidence that the National Alumni Society event is catered by Dreamland BBQ, which was started in Tuscaloosa.

Will Wes be there? Bammer's playing that night.

I paid my fifty bucks, might as well get my Dreamland.

Isn't it also strange that our buddy Wes Smith decides to throw something together for basketball since there is not another greater sport to have an event for anymore?

Sounds like the March should be one of protest.

Does Wes plan on leading us in the path (or march) that we should go?

Wes probably doesn't mean it is free for ACTIVE NAS members, he probably means up to date on membership NAS members.

The ACTIVE ones probably piss him off.

First I've heard of this. Guess I'll cancel my trip to Montgomery for the state Music Educator's Conference to work this.

Word is that the NAS has planned something without notifying all of the parties involved up front.

Who voted on using this money for this event?

Seems kind of fishy to me that the NAS all of a sudden throws together a basketball pregame pep rally especially when everyone is pissed at them.

It's was just confirmed today. Past actions always make me assume when the band is put on a flyer they haven't talked to any of us yet.

There have been talks about doing this since the attacks. Specifically the LSU game. But that fell through somehow.

Hey, those who eligible to go,, GO and ENJOY!!! The rest of us non-students, non-alumi fans will be there at the game to welcome you. This negative nattering of nabobs ( a really OLD string of words ) or the like is wasted animus, in my opinion.

Well, I renewed our NAS membership so we could go Monday night. I figure I paid enough that eating free Dreamland ribs won't bother me.

I also can't wait to get my Campaign for UAB shirt so that I can...umm...creatively decorate it!!
