Former Texas Longhorn TE MJ McFarland is "coming home" to UTEP
MJ McFarland, 4-star TE out of El Paso in 2011, is transferring to UTEP to play his final year of eligibility in his home town. Hope we can get the right QB to get the ball to him.

I have great expectations for him, especially as a blocker. He's a good one to get after losing 2 TE's to graduation.

This is good news but I found this quote from Kuglar interesting.

Kugler said UTEP will announce a signing class of between 17 and 23 players on Feb. 4, a group that will include McFarland. That will get UTEP to a full compliment of scholarship players for the first time since Kugler’s arrival in the offseason prior to 2013. He anticipates having 92 players on the roster for spring, 90 of whom are healthy, up from around 60 in his first spring.

“We’re building our depth, it’s starting to bear fruit,” Kugler said.

There are also rumors of Pitt QB Trey Anderson or Arizona QB Conner Brewer coming to UTEP.

It has been a long time since I got excited about UTEP football during basketball season. 02-13-banana

Wow how time flies. I remember coaching against his team in middle school.

Saw that.

Talented kid. Things looking even better for a team that just went to a bowl, and had a horrible season last year. Good trajectory!
