WMU "a challenge" for Ohio State?
The Washington Post breaks down Ohio State's 2015 schedule - and gives the Broncos a little respect in the process:

RE: WMU "a challenge" for Ohio State?
Quote:Quarterback Zach Terrell (3,443 yards, 25 TDs), running back Jarvion Franklin (1,550 rushing yards, 24 TDs) and wide receiver Corey Davis (78 catches, 1,408 yards, 15 TDs) all return. This will be a challenge.

This is going to be like Darnell said looking toward the Marshall game at home, Kolonel -- "They will be hanging from the trees!"

Yes. Yes, Urban Meyer, she will be. And left there. :) I cannot wait.

That's why we need off-season football to hold us over. Wouldn't it be sweet if in late June/early July we had a Championship where we saw Tim Lester vs Jordan Lynch duke it out .... then getting back into the real deal? Ugggh.

They torture us. :)

If memory serves, the last time we played the #1 ranked team was in 1991 vs. Florida State. We didn't score a point.

I appreciate the respect, but we're going to get our asses kicked.

I'm not sure there are too many teams that will be a challenge to the Buckeyes next year. I guess internal strife over who should be the QB could be an issue, but as we saw, injuries aren't going to derail them.

This just might be one of those 66-0 shellackings that won't make me feel bad about our team.

Buffalo "challenged" them in 2013 opener but they had Khalil Mack making plays all over field. UB still lost by 20.

Our game won't be their opener either.

I still think we're going to go because it's probably the only time I'll ever really want to attend a game in Columbus.

Paying obscene ticket prices to watch us get our ass kicked isn't my favorite thing to do, though.

One of those rare games where losing 49-0 is a moral victory.

We will get beat but we seem to do better when these games against power conference teams are not the first game of the season. If memory serves, both Iowa wins and the Ill win were not the first games of the season. Can't remember if the Wisc win back in the late 80s was the first game.

Maybe they will be looking past us as opposed getting all pumped up for the first game of the season.

1988 game at Wisky was opener.

You may recall we played Iowa Game 4 in 2013 and got nipped, 59-3.

Put up a couple scores or so and make it "interesting" into the early 3rd quarter at which point the wheels fall off (see 1999 Florida game). I know it's not aiming too high, but do that, and I'll chalk that up as a good outing against what will likely be the nation's #1.

Not true. We missed to field goals of 30 yards before they went on a scoring barrage! Thank god I was a red shirt.

All I know is Don E. said he was glad team was wearing brown pants that game when the Chief planted the spear.

IIRC the first win at Iowa in 2000 was fairly early in the season, but not the first game. As for the second win at Iowa and the Illinois win, both came in November.

We could have a pretty good team next year and still lose in Columbus by 50+. Maybe Ohio State gets knocked off in the playoff, but I can't see anyone on that schedule beating them.

It's possible not much may be able to be taken from either result, but it will be interesting to see how NIU does against the Buckeyes, in comparison with our performance a week later.

^This

This game is practically an exhibition, especially for Ohio State. I don't say that out of disrespect for our team, but Ohio State is so darn good...and they'll be even better next year.

Didn't another MAC East team (Toledo?) push them too not that long ago?

It's possible, but I have 0 hope for either this game or MSU. An L is an L. In the end there is no moral victory.
